We stayed on the back end of a family visit in Central North Island as an opportunity to rekindle some memories of Wellington from earlier years. The Botanical gardens, Cable Car journey, Te Papa museum. Shopping, and restaurants were all great. The metro bus service is great for seniors on the "Gold Card" was magic, especially for airport transfers - free from 0900 to 1500hrs.

Wellington is a lovely city which we always enjoy visiting and has lots to offer, the Botanical Gardens being one of our highlights. We ate at our hotel restaurant which wasn’t pleasant.

We stayed in Wellington in between train trips but had been there for a day during our cruise. I would have liked to have spent more time in this beautiful city and This Hotel would have been a perfect location and the day would have started perfectly with their breakfast!

A beautiful capital city which is easily walkable.
A beautiful capital city which is easily walkable. Many international brand shops but also a lovely offering of NZ retailers. GREAT coffee shops so you don't have to go in to a big brand American chain if you're looking for that caffeine fix. Superb restaurants and cool bars. Take the opportunity to walk along the seafront boulevard, visit Te Papa national museum, take the cable car up to the botanical gardens where you could also walk up to Zealandia reserve.
If you have time, you could take the train over to the Wairarapa and visit the many wineries or the small heritage town of Greytown offering some gorgeous shopping and eateries too.
We received a warm welcome at check-in and the process was handled efficiently. The room we had did not have a window but was very spacious, well appointed with a gorgeous bathroom and comfortable bed. We slept very well, probably helped by there being no window, and the supplies in the room for a morning cup of tea were perfect. The hotel is very conveniently located across the road from the airport bus and within walking distance of all of Wellingtons attractions. We would stay here again for sure!
Large warm quiet modern room with everything you need including a sitting area with a large window to watch the planes come and go.
Extra large and exceptionally comfortable bed with many pillows to choose from.
Rain showers I always love.
11 am check out is a bonus.
Two restaurants on site plus eateries in the airport.
Five minutes between checking out of our room and checking into our flight to fly home.
Thank you to all of the staff at Rydges Wellington airport Hotel.
We loved everything about this hotel. It is my second time staying and I will always stay here when visiting Wellington. The rooms were a great size, very clean and well looked after. The bathroom is a good size, clean and the shower pressure is just amazing! Location is super central and quick walk to most places and to public transport. Check in and out is super easy, the staff are really friendly too,.
Location is perfect for our travel. Walking distance to the places we need to go to. Easy to locate via public transporation. From Wellington airport, shuttle vans can bring you directly to the hotel for a relatively cheaper price than an airport taxi.
The room that we got was just right for 2 people but the bed was pretty good and comfortable.
All in all, it was a good option for the price we paid for
Was quiet but did stay Sunday & Monday nights. Very comfortable bed. Nice clean room. Extra tea / coffee etc. items required no problem for staff to supply. Great location to central city shopping and food outlets. Grateful to Manager for compensating me with free breakfast for an issue which inconvenienced me which was NOT the Hotels fault plus a TV cable fault, much appreciated 👍
Well appointed room, with the added advantage of comfortable couch. Spotlessly clean so heads up to hotel staff. COVID precautions were comprehensive without being obstructive. Everything we expected from a hotel of this brand. Is the first time we have stayed at this hotel when in Wellington but have decided next time would definitely stay here again. Location is amazing.
We are travelling around New Zealand in a campervan and booked 2 peas in a pod to have some luxury whilst visiting Wellington and it did not disappoint. This was a great stay where everything had been thought of. There was great communication with the host in the run up to our stay and there's also brilliant transport links into the CBD. Thoroughly recommend staying here!
Hidden on the fourth floor in downtown Wellington, U Residence Hotel offers a comfortable stay, with all the amenities necessary, a refuge from the rush of city life and confusing roads of Wellington. Though we arrived after hours on a Sunday evening, the charming Sisi made us feel welcome, and with her swift efficiency ensured we are comfortable whenever she was around.
Ok...so we always stay here when we're in Wellington. Been staying since it was a backpackers then Comfort/Quality etc..etc..so for 30 years. Naumi chain are funky and cheap. I like them. Also stayed in their Auckland Airport hotel. But...they are a little bit all trousers no undies...this stay our room was very cheap...just a single night in a basic room
The bed was terrific, and Its location in the centre of Wellington CBD, a quick walk away from Cuba St, was unique also; I liked how it was two rooms merged and not one room with two bedrooms it meant you got two of everything for much cheaper than other options.
Also, this place had no stupid Bonds Hidden fees or any other gotchas.
The location was excellent being close to the railway station and downtown. It was also close to the Parliament buildings where we did a really interesting tour. Wellington is a very walkable city and this hotel seemed to be handy to everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
Well-equipped. Located near the harbourfront, in the citycenter, next to the Willis Street, it was a great location. Elevator available via the garage to access the street or hotel to avoid the stairs. With the Airport Express Bus, you are from/to the Wellington Airport within 20 to 30 minutes.
An excellent apartment hotel. Spacious,(lounge, dining and kitchen areas) well appointed with various appliance including washing machine. Central location in the heart of Wellington. An easy walk to the main attraction of the city. Cable car and supermarket next door.
We have stayed at of hotels in Sojourn Apartments Hotel, Wellington . The rooms were clean and well-maintained. the location was perfect - close to the city centre and attractions. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of us. Thank you so much.
A great hotel for location. Right in the middle of Wellington city and only 5 minutes walk to the wharf where there were lovely restaurants. Beds very comfortable and the shower was awesome!
CityLife was very, very clean-unlike Rydges Wellington I recently stayed at, they were filthy and did not care at all.
The room was quiet, bed comfortable, what more could you want.
Wonderful boutique hotel in heart of the city. We loved the industrial chic styling and original building highlights throughout. The Hotel managers were very responsive and helpful.
