Hotels that guests love in Cascais

  • The location and the general atmosphere of the hotel suited perfectly the purpose of our trip - quiet, relaxing holidays far from hustle and bustle of big cities. In the daytime we enjoyed a spectacular view from the balcony (we lived on the 4th floor) at the bay and the rooftops of Cascais. At night we slept soundly as the windowpanes were soundprooof and the beds were comfortable and LONG (very important if you're in Portugal!) In general we liked our stay at the hotel Cidadela and would gladly come back!

  • Rather good hotel, clear, good bathroom, just right on the beach, we had also a big terraсe. Bus and railway terminal are 15 minutes by walking.

  • Everything was absolutely amazing ! The location is good, close to the centre of Cascais but in a rather quiet street. The hostel itself is beautiful and well maintained. But the best part was definitely the delightful staff, very friendly, outgoing and helpful ! I have stayed in hundreds of different hotels, from the cheapest dorms in Hong Kong to the 5* palace in San Francisco and the Cascais Boutique Hostel was probably the best experience I ever had. I will definitely return. Thank you so much !

  • This is definitely one the most spacious and modern hotels you will find in Portugal. Both the common areas and rooms are insanely big and all the spaces were thoughtfully designed and decorated. You have fantastic views from any of the hotel wings (ocean, golf tee or both) and the general mood of the hotel is quite relaxed and calming. This is the ideal hotel for recharging your batteries in style!

  • Luisa, who is the owner is very friendly and helpful. She even showed us the coastline. The breakfast was even with 2 types of fresh self made jam and fresh squeezed orange juice. The wifi was fast. The shower was as in a 5 star hotel (even with radio inside). Our room had a nice terrace and a water cooker for tea in the room. I can highly recommend to book "Casa da Luisa"

Hotel Cidadela Good 7.3 The food, the wine, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the pool, the location.
Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort Very good 8.3 Well located hotel, close to the golf course and Cascais. Good breakfast and also dinner. Nice employees, it worked out with the golf and tennis bookings we made through the reception.
Hotel Cascais Miragem Health & Spa Superb 9.3 Has stayed at Miragem numerous of times. Location and views are great. Always love to come back. Great to have access to an elaborated fitness center as good food and drink is plentifull in the area.
Hotel Fortaleza do Guincho Fabulous 8.9 Exceptional 27 January 2014 The sound of the Atlantic, waves crashing to the surrounding rocks, the amazing views. Wonderfully restored historical Portuguese 17th century fortress, amazing location, situated above the beaches overlooking the Atlantic. The service is great and the staff are very friendly and professional. The rooms are luxurious and there are many places to sit and look at the ocean. The Michelin-starred restaurant is fascinating.
Estalagem Muchaxo Hotel Good 7.3 Close to Sintra & Cabo da Roca! The boss Antonio, his dearest wife & receptionists gave best smile all the time! We were upgraded to a room facing the Praia (Beach) so made our living like in paradise! Don't expect to have any groceries & restaurants around. The in-house restaurant & bar serves good foods at affordable price (around Euro 35 for 2 ppl). My girlfriend and I started to dine at 7pm till 10pm. Supper in almost the western part of the earth, enjoyed the magic hour till the york disappear was the best ending of the day!
Senhora da Guia Cascais Boutique Hotel Very good 8.5 Close to the sea, nice view and not overcrowded
Farol Design Hotel Fabulous 8.8 Location of this hotel is exellent it's just a short stroll from the Cascais marina, trendy bars, restaurants and boutiques. Flarol Hotel staff provide an outstanding customer service to ensure you are well looked after during your stay. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing trip. Hotel as described on Booking.com
Grande Real Villa Italia Superb 9.4 Perfect location (ocean is just in front of the hotel), very good staff, tasty breakfast. We were recommended a couple of restaurants in that area - they were gorgeous!
Viva Marinha Hotel & Suites Very good 8.4 We stayed with two small kids in a luxury double room in the ground floor (this is important when you're with the kids). The room was nicely equipped and spacious enough to accommodate four of us without any problem. The swimming pool is just amazing. Even though it gets crowdy on the sunny days, you always find some place for you. Just bear in mind it might not be sunny in Cascais even in the peak season. Then, you need some B plan, because it might be boring when you can't use the swimming area (it's located far the center of Cascais). The staff were all excellent, friendly, speaking good English. We didn't buy breakfast as this is rather expensive, but there is Lidl just a few km away so you can easily organize this on your own at low cost. We had free Wi-fi which was perfectly working. The area is very safe with guards at the entrance. You can park your car either outside or in a garrage, which is very convenient when staying with the kids. The cleaning service was really nice. Easy to get by car to Cascais center, Cabo do Roca, and Sintra. We'll be definitely back and recommend it to the others.
The Oitavos Fabulous 8.8 This is definitely one the most spacious and modern hotels you will find in Portugal.
Pousada de Cascais - Cidadela Historic Hotel & Art District Superb 9 The panoramic view over The Marina and the Atlantic ocean . Magnificent !!! The History of The old fortress make an impact. You can dream yourself into the life of soldiers on The fort - looking out to the sea for pirates , or ships from invading armadas threatening old Lisbon....

    Laid-back Suburban Beach Resort

Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.

King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.

Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.

Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.

Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.
