The Museum of Music & Instuments of the Indian Ocean is not...
The Museum of Music & Instuments of the Indian Ocean is not to be missed! Maison Folio is also worth a visit to see both the house and beautiful garden. We ate dinner at Chez Alice - best to pre-book as it is popular. We had the plat du jour for 22 Euros and were very satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the food. It would have been better to stay at least 2 nights in Salazie and done some walking in the surrounds.

Alice speaks perfect English. The house is on a small hill and you have a nice view (you can even see waterfalls). You have a lot of space to spread out. The terrace on both sides is also very large. The small towns of Salazie and Hell Bourg are not far from here. We felt very good and had a great time! On the top of it there was a unbelievable rainbow when we arrived.

The lady of the house keeps the property in an excellent state and everything is as clean as in a 5 star hotel. Furthermore, she is very attentive and serves an epic breakfast, directs you to the few restaurants around and the property is very close to hiking trails that go into Mafate.

Our flight was delayed and they even bought some basic food stuff for us. This is the perfect location to explore the Salazie/Hell-bourg area as well as all the walking trails. They even booked a restaurant for us, as we don't speak french.

Do choose their dinner option if offered, they cooked great traditional creole dinner every night. Also the place where the hotel is located. offers great views as you wake up in a valley between mountains. Just amaizng.
