What's the secret to sampling all the diverse food Bangkok has to offer?

May Kaidee's cooking school! You get to cook about 10 different dishes and eat them all then you can take the left overs home along with a recipe book, the lady who runs the class is fantastic, so funny and friendly, and talented! Also, looking out for restaurants where the locals are eating- much more authentic and much cheaper too! Avoid anywhere that advertises 'western and European food'. Hot pot restaurant on samsen 5 had some of the most amazing food at a ridiculously cheap prices and the most friendly and fun loving staff too!

Hotels that guests love in Bangkok

  • We go an upgraded from a studio to an executive suite so we were very excited about the spacious apartment! The free Tuktuk Service offered by the Hotel to Sukhumvit main road was great too. The salt water pool is refreshing and the pool area is relaxing. Taxi to the Airport by Taxmeter was only 400 Bhat.

  • We stayed here one night, before returning home. Very close to the airport rail link (5 min. walk), only two sky train stops from Siam malls. Lots of food near by. Nice staff. Big rooms. All in all a good 'last night hotel', if you have been to Bangkok before.

  • The location of Salil Hotel is very good, it is on busy soi 11 within walking distance to the Skytrain for easy access to other parts of Bangkok. Probably one of the best hotels in its price range if you prefer to stay in the upper Sukhumvit area.

  • This is the best hotel we stayed at during our two months in Asia (and we stayed at many different hotels). The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. There is a free tuk tuk service to the city center, a swimming pool, roof terrace, gaming room, restaurant, bar and kitchen. The rooms have very hight standard. On the day of our checkout we got to leave our luggage in their luggage room and could use the pool and the showers by the pool before heading to the airport, which was awesome after a really hot day in Bangkok. Thumbs up!

  • Great location (for resting before our flight from BKK airport - easy connection via train). Friendly staff, clean and spacious room. Good breakfast. Best value for money in Bangkok (tried 3 hotels).

    Something for Everyone in Bangkok

Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.

Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.

To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.
