  • I visit Tonga now for 40 years for business and I have now found an amazing place to stay, excellent in all aspects.

    Solo traveler from New Zealand
  • Good shops and restaurants in a walking distance. Staff is very nice and helpful, always smiling and asking if everything is ok. There is no beach near by, so you have to use taxi which is pretty expensive in tonga. We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed our stay. We walked to the pier which is 30 min walk, and paid 10 dollars to get Pangaimotu Island, boat trip takes only 10 minutes and the beach is AWESOME. Hotel also provided free coconuts to drink.

  • It was more like visiting a family and staying with them, rather than lodging in an accommodation. It was nice, kind people, relaxed, sometimes too relaxed, but okay. This environment brings people together, both the family and the guests.

Kamenko, Solo traveler from the Netherlands
  • The Waterfront Hotel was ideally located across from the ferry terminal, with an excellent bar only metres away. The food was good and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was excellent with a view over the ferry wharf.

    Paulette, Group from Australia
  • Best location to town, bars, restaurants, conference venue, markets. The bikes made a nice change, riding in the cool evenings! Great accommodation, spacious and perfect for getting work done. Wifi was a bonus! Friendly hosts, welcomed on arrival, travelled with confidence. Made our first stay in Tonga so pleasant.

Little Italy Hotel Very good 8 Much has gone into caring for the Little Italy property. It's a clean, beautiful, intimate little place across the road from the sea. You have several choices when dining: inside, outside on either the front patio or in the back next to the long pool surrounded by tropical greenery. Their food is good, and their complimentary breakfasts...there is nothing wanting. Peaceful, soothing music is played in the restaurant while the fresh warm breezes blow through the room. The success of any business is the performance of their employees. All were friendly and good at their jobs. I did not rent a car. I asked for someone to shuttle me to the airport. I made a mistake and reported there a day early so had nothing to do with my day. The driver suggested I go to one of the islands for the lunch package, but he knew the boat was scheduled to leave within a short amount of time. He took all the back roads and drove really fast so I would make it in time, took my suitcase back to the hotel, put me in a room that had fewer stairs, AND picked me up at the dock after the all day trip. I found out later that he was one of the managers. Good people!
Loumaile Lodge Fair 5.4 Helpful staff - no problem with late checkout Big rooms, big shower, plenty of hot water Good location close to market etc Don't be put off by the initial appearance, the entrance is down a corridor which is very odd. Feels like you are the only guests they have
Olini Lodge Excellent 8.9 Excellent they treat people friendly
Dayspring Lodge Good 7.9 Isi and Selina are wonderful people who make you feel at home. Our talks at breakfast and during the day were always friendly and open. We never felt like guests, more like old friends meeting up again.
Fafa Island Resort Excellent 8.9 At this resort you feel like family; from the moment you arrive to the very sad departure as everyone gathers on the beach to wave you farewell. The hostess Brigit is professional, and instills a sense of comfort that the der of the team reinforce. A beautiful location, relaxing with good food and perfect sunsets. We will be back.
Malau Lodge Wonderful 9.4 The staff and facilities were wonderful. The breeze, that was constant, was helpful because of the humidity. They had bottled water, laundry services, and beautiful fruit every morning for breakfast.
Waterfront Lodge Excellent 8.6 the food was five star..locality brilliant.
Royal Sunset Island Resort Very good 8 Best place ever when you have reached total burn out....loved it
NOA Guest House Good 7.8 If you are looking for clean, budget accommodation close, but not too close, to Nuku'Alofa, then Noa Guest House is a good choice. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the yummy breakfasts were cooked in a nice clean kitchen. There is a wee shop directly across the road and the main centre with markets, and the tasty Friends Cafe, is about 4 short blocks away. Nana was great to deal with and tried her best to help us with any requests. If we were to return to Tonga, and needed to stay in Nuku'Alofa, we would definitely look at the Noa Guest House again!
Villa Lodge Good 7.9 A home away from home, delightful.
Villa Apartments Exceptional 9.7 I stayed in the Villa apartments upstairs apartment with the 2 double rooms. The apartment was clean, modern and very comfortable. The balcony goes right around the apartment. The front balcony looks out towards the sea. The apartment has wifi and cable TV. Judy was wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. We had a few restaurants within easy walking distance. Round the corner from the villa apartments their is a small store selling food and essentials. I would highly recommend these apartments.
