Little Italy Hotel Very good 8 We enjoyed everything about our stay. Very helpful staff, great food and excellent accommodation!
Loumaile Lodge Fair 5.4 Helpful staff - no problem with late checkout Big rooms, big shower, plenty of hot water Good location close to market etc Don't be put off by the initial appearance, the entrance is down a corridor which is very odd. Feels like you are the only guests they have
Olini Lodge Excellent 8.9 Olini and her father Saia made us feel so welcome. Saia is a fantastic ambassador for Tonga. The guesthouse is on the main road into town and we enjoyed getting on and off the local buses into town and back for less than $1. Having access to the laundry and kitchen at any time was great. Eating breakfast at the same huge square table with the biggest lazy susan ever, was a good way to meet and interact with guests from around the globe. Olini Lodge is owned and managed by Tongans. I give it my highest recommendation.
Dayspring Lodge Good 7.9 Isi and Selina are wonderful people who make you feel at home. Our talks at breakfast and during the day were always friendly and open. We never felt like guests, more like old friends meeting up again.
Fafa Island Resort Excellent 8.9 At this resort you feel like family; from the moment you arrive to the very sad departure as everyone gathers on the beach to wave you farewell. The hostess Brigit is professional, and instills a sense of comfort that the der of the team reinforce. A beautiful location, relaxing with good food and perfect sunsets. We will be back.
Malau Lodge Wonderful 9.4 Staff was great - the room was immaculate - free breakfast every morning!
Waterfront Lodge Excellent 8.7 Nice room in an attractive building. Good service and food.
Royal Sunset Island Resort Good 7.9 Best place ever when you have reached total burn out....loved it
NOA Guest House Good 7.9 If you are looking for clean, budget accommodation close, but not too close, to Nuku'Alofa, then Noa Guest House is a good choice. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the yummy breakfasts were cooked in a nice clean kitchen. There is a wee shop directly across the road and the main centre with markets, and the tasty Friends Cafe, is about 4 short blocks away. Nana was great to deal with and tried her best to help us with any requests. If we were to return to Tonga, and needed to stay in Nuku'Alofa, we would definitely look at the Noa Guest House again!
Villa Lodge Good 7.9 A home away from home, delightful.
Villa Apartments Exceptional 9.7 I stayed in the Villa apartments upstairs apartment with the 2 double rooms. The apartment was clean, modern and very comfortable. The balcony goes right around the apartment. The front balcony looks out towards the sea. The apartment has wifi and cable TV. Judy was wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. We had a few restaurants within easy walking distance. Round the corner from the villa apartments their is a small store selling food and essentials. I would highly recommend these apartments.

    • I visit Tonga now for 40 years for business and I have now found an amazing place to stay, excellent in all aspects.

    • Good shops and restaurants in a walking distance. Staff is very nice and helpful, always smiling and asking if everything is ok. There is no beach near by, so you have to use taxi which is pretty expensive in tonga. We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed our stay. We walked to the pier which is 30 min walk, and paid 10 dollars to get Pangaimotu Island, boat trip takes only 10 minutes and the beach is AWESOME. Hotel also provided free coconuts to drink.

    • It was more like visiting a family and staying with them, rather than lodging in an accommodation. It was nice, kind people, relaxed, sometimes too relaxed, but okay. This environment brings people together, both the family and the guests.

    • The Waterfront Hotel was ideally located across from the ferry terminal, with an excellent bar only metres away. The food was good and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was excellent with a view over the ferry wharf.

    • Best location to town, bars, restaurants, conference venue, markets. The bikes made a nice change, riding in the cool evenings! Great accommodation, spacious and perfect for getting work done. Wifi was a bonus! Friendly hosts, welcomed on arrival, travelled with confidence. Made our first stay in Tonga so pleasant.
