The beach means different things to different people. What did the beach in Atlantic City mean to you?

This is not a family-friendly resort town. In addition to the casinos (which I knew about), there are lots of strip clubs, liquor stores, etc. which are spread throughout the city (so they are hard to avoid coming across). The beach, however, was very nice- clean and not crowded, even during the summer prime season. I would only recommend this for a short get-away for adults if you plan on spending most of your time at the beach and not doing much else. The new outlets look nice, but the rest of the town does not seem safe for walking at night. For a family friendly area, I would go south to Ventnor or Ocean City. We were here for an adult get-away, but we will definitely not bring our kids here.

Hotels that guests love in Atlantic City

  • The price was definitely the best feature of this hotel. It was the cheapest hotel I could find. Despite the low price, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. If you're in Atlantic City for business and don't care much about staying in a fancy hotel, this is the place for you.

  • While the facade of the hotel could use some sprucing up, I thought the rooms were very modern and clean. Parking was included and it was walking distance from the boardwalk. I celebrated my birthday with a group of 20 friends and this was the cheapest and highest rated option. We cabbed to the club since girls were in heals but it was so close to the major casinos (with the exception of the Borgata).

  • The hotel was close to the boardwalk, casinos and nearby restaurants. Easy to walk to any of the local attractions. Price was cheaper than the casinos which for some reason were very high on Saturday.

  • Frontage right on the Boardwalk, close walking distance to all amenities, including all Boardwalk casinos, outlet mall, markets. Hotel has its own shops, food market, wine store, restaurants, coffee shops, so everything there. Parking was cheap. Our room -- and most rooms, it appears -- had a spectacular view overtop the city, Boardwalk and beach. We just pulled up chairs and gazed out our own private view.

  • Lots of fees in atlantic city. your hotel starts out at 49 dollars a night. which sounds cheap. by the time you get your bill, its 143.00 for two nights. 11 dollars to use internet.

Atlantic City House Very good 8.4 Aj was awesome. Very personable. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay. We were a bit iffy about staying with other people, but they were friendly and helpful.
Tryp by Wyndham Atlantic City Very good 8 Sunny at the front desk was so friendly and funny! .... "here in AC, in the winter (which is when we came), it's the women who are clothed and the trees are bare, but in the summer, the trees are clothed and the women are bare!" Room was clean and warm and the TV was crisp and clear, but didnt respond well at all to the remote Breakfast was great, with the waffles(WITH KOSHER CERTIFICATION ! ) and toast (eggs and sausages, too, for non-kosher customers), blueberry mini-muffins
Baymont Inn & Suites Atlantic City Okay 5.6 the place was so close to everything and the price is cheap
The Claridge Hotel Very good 8 Have stayed at many Boardwalk hotels in the past 20 years, but this was my first visit to the Claridge and I loved it! The staff, particularly Joel and Paris, is exceptional. The hotel dates to 1929 and is one of only two properties from Atlantic City's gilded age to have survived the wreaking ball. Magnificent ballroom and art gallery. The hotel's architecture and grounds are evocative of Jazz Age elegance; no casino (so no 'resort fees') gives the property a classier, quieter vibe. The hotel is filled with interesting vintage photography of Atlantic City's storied past. My room had a huge closet and 12"+ high ceilings, and overlooked the hotel's formal gardens and the ocean beyond. If you want an upscale, chic hotel experience with incredible attention to detail, this is the destination for you.
