The Driskill Wonderful 9 One of the comfortable stays I have ever had in a hotel. High class style combined with excellent service and feel for something very traditional southern hospitality. And one of the most beautiful hotel buildings.
Orangewood Inn and Suites Good 7.5 Breakfast had real meat and eggs

Railyard Condos by TurnKey Vacation Rentals Very good 8.3 check in was great. no lines, no people, just go straight to unit.
HI - Austin Hostel Very good 8.3 There wasn't anything that I didn't like about this spot. The weather could have been better, but the fact that the interior community space doubled as an Internet cafe and social meeting spot or my personal office at times, the inclemental weather was just fine to watch through the large glass windows of this midCentury boathouse turned hostel.
Hyatt Place Austin/Arboretum Excellent 8.9 The staff was the best . Breakfast was fresh and hot .
Budget Inn Motel Okay 5.8 The tile floor in the room and bath worked great. Posted rules and regulations provided a sense of security and they worked. On checking in, the manager went to my room and inspected it to make sure everything was in order.

    A Unique Slice of Texas

Austin is a city like no other in Texas. A haven for the cool and creative, musicians and music fans flock by the hundreds to this "Live Music Capital of the World" for annual festivals like Austin City Limits and SXSW.

Historic downtown Austin is the seat of Texas government, and the seat of fun and entertainment for locals and visitors. Congress Avenue is the main artery through the city center, leading to the impressive Texas State Capitol building at the end. Just off Congress is 6th Street, the popular entertainment district with its quirky bars and fine restaurants.

Away from the hustle and bustle is tranquil Zilker Park, a 350 acre oasis in the heart of the city. Here you can wander through the Zilker Botanical Gardens, or take a dip in the inviting Barton Springs Pool, a natural spring where locals swim year round. A walk around Town Lake at sunset is a must.

Austin is also home to the University of Texas, where about 50,000 students are enrolled each year which ensures a fun and youthful atmosphere throughout the city.

It is possible to get around Austin by bicycle and bus, and Austin International Airport is only 8 miles from downtown Austin. From motels to resorts, Booking.com has accommodations as unique as the city itself.

    • My fiancé and I were just passing through and stayed at the courtyard. We arrived at the hotel at 1:00am! The front desk person was so nice and didn't waste anytime getting us checked in and giving us our keys. Our room was very nice and the bed was so comfortable! I am returning to austin for my bachelorette party and I will be staying at the courtyard!

    • Close traveling distance to all of Austin and surrounding areas. Easy interstate access right out of driveway. Hotel had a pool for relaxing during our breaks. Room was quite large and roomy for our 5 member family.

    • This hotel is clean and the rooms have been updated. It is conveniently located for a business trip to the state capitol. The staffers are outstanding, especially the evening clerk. This was my second stay this year, and next time I visit Austin, I will stay here again.

    • Very decent hotel if you only need a place to sleep and shower for a couple of nights. Nothing too fancy, but the room was large enough and clean, good wi-fi coverage, decent breakfast. Can get a bit noisy because of the highway. Taxi to 6th Street costs about $20 and takes 10-15 min. We stayed for 2 nights (weekend trip) and even taking into account 4 taxi trips, all in all it was still cheaper than staying in a more central location. I think it was absolutely worth it, would stay there again when in Austin!

    • As the title of this review would suggest, it was a clean, modern and comfortable hotel. Rooms were a nice size. There's a small, outdoors, pool and sunbathing area with a nice view of the city. The breakfast is fantastic and I over did it every morning! It's a good location - near to the Capitol Building and walking distance to downtown. There's a bus top outside (but Austin bus service is terrible...cheap...but sparse!)
