The Caretakers were amazing, kind and so attentive.
The Caretakers were amazing, kind and so attentive. The rooms were beautiful, clean and so comfortable. The property offers a super fun movie night and wonderful breakfast and the location is perfect. I had a family emergency which cut my stay short but definitely will stay again for future memories. Thank you to everyone there for making things so lovely! 🙂

Bodega is a unique spot.
Bodega is a unique spot. The ocean views and the variety of birds alone are worth a trip. There are several great restaurants like "Drakes" at Bodega Bay Lodge, and "Terrapin," though pricey. Another is "The Tides," a large, more reasonably-priced primarily fish restaurant (usually quite busy), with wonderful views of the Bay. You can hike, visit the quaint town of Bodega, see where "The Birds" was filmed, and whale watch. Go and enjoy.

I want to add to an earlier review.
I want to add to an earlier review. I did receive a call from Lisa, the manager, concerning my invoice. She recognized the discrepancy and gave me a credit for the overcharge. I recommend Sonoma Coast Villas wholeheartedly!

You'll definitely need a car to explore this area.
You'll definitely need a car to explore this area. Close to Bodega Bay and the beach, but far enough away that it's a bit warmer and not windy compared to being on the coast. Nice and quiet area, with some restaurant options, but it's about a 15-20 min drive to more food options.

The area was beautiful.
The area was beautiful. The room was nice but needs a bunch of love to make it cozy. The flood were stone and could use some area rugs. The curtains were old and didn’t close properly. The lamp shades were dented. The refrigerator was broken as well as the hot tub. I removed a towel and the holder fell of the wall. Paint chipped off the walls and it smelled musty when we entered the room.It had a fireplace and we loved it. The beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was presented in a beautiful dining area and was pretty well supplied. Great coffee and warm muffins. But the room was freezing. There should have at least had a fire or some heating. The staff were friendly. For over $360 a night I expected more for sure. But we loved the place in general so we’ll consider it again if there are nicer rooms to choose from.
The Sonoma Coast Villas were a pleasant surprise. The property was somewhat secluded, yet close to the busy coastal Bodega Bay area. The rooms were special, with trayed wooden ceilings, mood lighting, and a wood-burning fireplace. Our room was near the pool and hot tub area. We were greeted with a glass of champagne, which was a great way to start our visit. The breakfast was very good; there were some warm items available along with the cold items. The property also had a bocce area and outdoor fire pit with complementary smores kits.
Everything. This was the best spot we’ve stayed in in the Bodega Bay Area. The staff were warm and friendly always greeting us by name. The fact that they are so accommodating to pets is incredible. They truly want your stay to be the best. More than enough to do right at this location without having to leave except to go and eat if you choose. It is a very relaxing location with plenty of paths to explore with our pups. We will definitely be staying at Sonoma Coast Villa in the future.
The property was an old hunting lodge and it has several beautiful buildings with well-groomed gardens in the common areas. It was very peaceful and relaxing. My dog was the happiest she's ever been in a hotel - there were no carpets, so no dog pee stains, and LOTS of grounds to sniff around. There were many other friendly dogs around, too, which made all the difference for her.
Everything about our stay was excellent, the rooms were cozy and spacious, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent (they really go above and beyond your typical hotel breakfast). The s’mores and outdoor movie was definitely a highlight as well !! We will be back for sure
Spacious rooms with our own backyard space to hang out. Cute hotel overall and liked that they brought breakfast to us (pastries, fruit, and juice). Short drive from the main part of Bodega Bay. TV wasn't working so they upgraded our room to a larger suite which was nice
We had a great stay! Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The hot tub was wonderful. Fireplace in rooms was very nice! Our rooms were very spacious. S'mores and movies outdoors was a fun touch. Very dog friendly, too!
The location central to seeing the bay, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. As they said, they are there to make our stay comfortable and easy. They did just that. Would definitely go again.
