Not too far from Bakersfield. They have breakfast with waffle makers that you spin, so that's a plus. They also offer cereals with milk or orange juice. The front desk person is always friendly and helpful. reasonable prices! Very peaceful out there. Next to plenty of gas stations, a Tesla charging station just a bit down the way, and a Starbucks close by.

It was okay for staying the night as I traveled south, as it sits right by the freeway. It's an old hotel and in need of repairs. In an area of gas stations, trucks and fast food - so noisy in the afternoon and evening. The service people at the desk were nice.
Breakfast is mostly processed food crap but did find a small yogurt.
It's the cheapest place to stay in the area north of LA for a night.

I ended up staying west of Buttonwillow on 101 because I couldn't take 58 back after driving through the Carrizo Plains as it was closed for some repairs. I have stayed in Buttonwillow on other occasions and found it to have all the conveniences that a traveler needs and would stay there again

It was in a great location with good places to eat nearby such as a chicken fast food place, McDonald's and an Indian cuisine. I felt very safe here. The staff is wonderful and so helpful, they have repeat customers. There is an inviting outdoor pool. The bed is so comfortable. It is quiet here. There is a table in the room to use to eat or work on. They have WiFi. There is a breakfast room with great coffee. It is affordable.

Buttonwillow is definately a dive town that you can miss.
Buttonwillow is definately a dive town that you can miss. This hotel was less than adequate. I have never felt the need to request another room after checking in and after going back and forth in my head, I had to settle with the fact I did not feel safe. The window did not lock. The room when walking in was about 120' degrees. Bedding and bathroom were not cleaned effectively and it appeared well used (if you know what I mean). The front desk lady was very cordial and tried her best with what little resources she had available to accomidate my request. Truth is if I thought I would not fall asleep while driving on I would have done so....

Hotel area in Buttonwillow is just a truck stop on one main road...no great shakes. However, it does have amenities--Gas/Food/Lodging on an otherwise rural stretch of I-5. There are several restaurants & a Starbucks; several gas stations, and is Junction with CA-58 on into Bakersfield. I've stayed here on trips to SoCal, as it is about halfway to my destination. I also enjoy the family owned 'Taste of India' restaurant that is quite good and deserves patronage. One of about 3 places that is a sit-down restaurant, rather than fast food.
Be prepared that, year-round, Buttonwillow has an amazing fly issue. They congregate in swarms and lazily fly about everywhere. Especially noticeable at dusk. It is difficult to keep flies from entering a door or window, and if they are bothersome, plan on spending some time swatting and killing them.

NOTHING here that recommends it for a longer stay.
NOTHING here that recommends it for a longer stay. I would NOT stay at this property again, as it was clean enough inside my room, but the outside of the property is poorly kept up and not really all that clean.
Hotel sheets and towels are dirty and old, and soap for bathing and cleaning supplies are cheap! They're not cheap, but companies aren't willing to pay a little extra for slightly better cleaning products. The owner of this hotel chain is really penny-pinching.
Furniture one side unfinished. Bathroom faucets looked unclean. Sink and bathtub missing drainage stops. A hamburger was left on the microwave. One Coffeemaker on breakfast room broken. Hardly anything on trays for the breakadt offered on hotel advertisement.
No internet or wi-fi. On door key; Wi-Fi stated zero availability. Ads stated available. 2 motels run in same front end. Motel 6 and vagabond on the handicap half. Receptionist great but can’t help you with Wi-Fi or bookings book.
Good hotel for one night stay, free coffee in the morning. We were so tired that the 'noise from the highway' that are in other opinions didnt bother us at all. There was a pool and felt safe there
Nothing the only thing this hotel had going for it was the young lady working the front counter, she was professional, accomidating with what little resources she had available. I
Unbeatable value. Can’t get any cheaper than this. Good location close to the Buttonwillow Raceway Park if you’re a gearhead. Breakfast with fruits, coffee and waffles!
The staff was nice and attentive. The hotel is in a great location; right off freeway, lots of gas stations, starbucks and fast food right around hotel.
