We chose this property as the property description stated...
We chose this property as the property description stated that it was .3 miles from the Cherokee Casino, which would have been walkable to the concert that we were attending. It turned out to be WAY longer than .3 miles and we needed to drive instead. This really impacted our plans and the actual proximity to the casino is VERY misleading. Being older means that we are not as able-bodied as we used to be and the main reason we chose this hotel was the proximity to the casino, thinking that we would be able to enjoy a few cocktails while on vacation and be able to walk back to our hotel room. Very deceptive property description!

Great hotel and the employee’s were friendly and helpful.
Great hotel and the employee’s were friendly and helpful. The only negative was the bonus spins on slot machines they did not pay. I realize that winning isn’t easy they wouldn’t be in business if everyone won. But getting 12 or 15 free spins and it pays less than you bet isn’t fun.

This is very much tourist town, everywhere trying to sell cheap souvenirs and the like. The casino dominates the town, (Not worth a visit in my view, see separate review). The town was a convenient place to stop located near both the Blueridge Parkway and Great Smokey Mountains.
We found a decent, basic hotel to be the MicroTel and there was a Japanese restaurant a few doors down which had good food at fair prices.
If traveling again, I’d try not to stay in Cherokee, hopefully finding something away from the tat.

We waited until after Labor Day to avoid the summer crowds and limited parking, so some shops and attractions were closed for the season. Disappointed the Bingo hall was permanently closed. Enjoyed three trips to the casino. The bonfire at the park with a storyteller was my favorite activity. We loved exploring the river park and surrounding waterfalls. As always, shopping is the major tourist activity and there are plenty of shops to choose from.
The Econo Lodge was the cleanest and quietest hotel we have stayed at in the many years coming to Cherokee. The room was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The location was perfect. It was close to the shops but very quiet at night. We could even here the rushing of the river when we stepped out side of our room. This will definitely be our choice to stay at from now on. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is great. If we could have rated it higher then a 10 we would have.
This has become my favorite place to stay in Cherokee. The exterior looks a little dated but the interiors are very up-to-date and comfortable. There is the most wonderful cool breeze that comes across the walkways at night if you sit out in front of your room. All appliances worked and the front desk staff went out of their way to make my stay a good one. You are also central to downtown and the Oconaluftee water park.
This was our 3rd stay here. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Conveniently located to Cherokee, close to the things we like to see and do, and the Elk were super close to go see this trip. We arrived a few minutes early and our room was ready. We were able to be on the bottom floor as requested. Later breakfast hours than some other hotels. We will definitely be back.
Old school hotel (1960s) with upgrades. The room was basic but nice and clean. Not many people here at this time of year (early April) - not many people in Cherokee, for that matter (contrast that with Gatlinburg on the other side of the mountains, which was packed). Easy access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
We was having issues with our channels on our TV they moved us to a different room when they was very busy with Mike Epps in town, all the staff was amazing and very friendly and the room and the whole hotel was very clean and breakfast was amazing as well. They bed was very comfortable as well.
The staff at the front desk were so friendly, and I loved that this was a small local motel instead of it being a larger commercial hotel. The location of the motel is right on the river. Each room has a balcony that overlooks the river and we had so much fun feeding the ducks each morning!
Everything was excellent 👌 👏. Best place ever.I will be staying at this hotel anytime I go to Cherokee. Clean, accommodating, rooms are extra big, very nice setup. Soaps are good can use them.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The inn was older but quaint and the beds were very comfortable. The town of Cherokee is charming and the Great Smoky Mountains are well worth the visit.
The hotel was fairly new and clean. The town of Cherokee is not so great, and this hotel is right across from a large casino which was not a problem, but not our cup of tea.
Nice looking hotel with spacious rooms and quite clean. Right across from the casino which, I expect, makes up most of the clientele (which should tell you something).
This hotel is perfectly situated across the street from the Cherokee Casino. There was a fridge in our room which was nice to pick up beverages from the gas station.
