Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.
Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.
The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.
Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.
Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.
“This place is simply amazing - great location, great price, easy access to rest of Chicago, plenty of places to eat - what more can you ask for? Big room, supremely clean, smiling staffs - I can just go on and on..”
“Love the amazing view from my Hyatt room and location of hotel. The riverboat architectural tour was awesome so was Giordano's right around the corner. Also conveniently located near the magnificent mile.”
“Great location and spacious room with facilities up to date. I arrived after an overnight flight and the staff could give me a room at 8am, what says a lot about their niceness. Good value for price. I definetely recommend it.”
“The stuff was just wonderful and extremely helpful:)!”
“location close to park, cafes, room was quiet. Hotel staff very helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Jazz festival was on. ....extra bonus!”
“Very spacious room and superb location”
“great location -near shopping and great restaurants”
“Everything about the hotel. The staff were wonderful and friendly especially Ben who always get the taxi for us. The front desk people were all kind and friendly. Awesome people and location! Will definitely stay at The Willows again when we visit the wind city in the future.”
“Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice and quiet area.”
“Great hotel in the Carbide and Carbon Building, perfect location on Michigan Avenue, near the river and most attractions. Nice design of the rooms and floors, all new, modern style, each floor dedicated to one rock-star. Rooms very clean, comfortable, well equipped (i.e. flat TV with soundbar, iPod dock, coffee machine). Very friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant. And all this to a good price (for Chicago conditions).”
“I loved the location of the hotel. It was central to everything I was there to do. Very close to excellent restaurants, bars, and theatres. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious.”
“everyone we encountered on staff was helpful and very congenial, not once in our 2 night stay did we encounter a sour face. the facility was maintained wonderfully.”
“I love the apartment. Very nice room and very nice staff.”
“The rooms were clean, the bed was cozy, it;s right in the heart of downtown Chicago, easy access to the red line on Grand St. You're right by a trader joe's and STEPS away from a fabulous pizzeria (or 3). I'm a budget traveler. Decided to splurge just a little- it was still VERY affordable. Loved it. Highly recommend.”
“Good location, great food, clean and comfortable. Staff were very good to explain how to get yo places and what transportation is easiest.”
“Too much that i loved to list. The absolute best boutique hotel in Chicago. Hands down.”
“Only a guest once or twice a year the Congress Plaza Staff remember me and care for me in a manner resembling a small boutique hotel I have patronized for over 20 yesars in El Salvador-Doorgreeters Steve Perkins and George remember me; Francine at the desk is pleasant and professional and waitress Agnes warm. Thanks for luxury attention in a budget hotel. Smoking availability a plus.”
“Luxury boutique hotel without the hype. High ceilings, well lit, minutes from Art Institute and Millenium Place.”
“Located next to John Hancock, 1 block to Magnificent Mile. Chicago's Famous Gourmet Donuts "Glazeo" in lobby . Fun interactive Trivia Games at Night via text-I won a bottle of wine- fun & different! Love this Boutique Hotel & their amazing staff! Huge Suite- beautiful. We will be back for sure, we loved The Rafello! Dennis & Lori McGhee Burlington Ontario”
“I came to Chicago to see a concert and check out the city. I didn't need a 5 star hotel with all the frills because I wasn't going to be in it. I just needed a clean, safe place to crash after rocking out and Urban Lofts was perfect. The staff was awesome and super helpful!”
