Hotels that guests love in Chicago

  • Only a guest once or twice a year the Congress Plaza Staff remember me and care for me in a manner resembling a small boutique hotel I have patronized for over 20 yesars in El Salvador-Doorgreeters Steve Perkins and George remember me; Francine at the desk is pleasant and professional and waitress Agnes warm. Thanks for luxury attention in a budget hotel. Smoking availability a plus.

  • Great location for visitors wanting to be near the Magnificent Mile. Walkable to transit and many attractions downtown. Very large hotel, so not a 'boutique' experience, but service and hotel were excellent.

  • Located next to John Hancock, 1 block to Magnificent Mile. Chicago's Famous Gourmet Donuts "Glazeo" in lobby . Fun interactive Trivia Games at Night via text-I won a bottle of wine- fun & different! Love this Boutique Hotel & their amazing staff! Huge Suite- beautiful. We will be back for sure, we loved The Rafello! Dennis & Lori McGhee Burlington Ontario

  • What's not to like? The hotel is historical, located in downtown, good amenities, friendly staff. Loved it there. We came to Chicago to explore the city and everything was walking distance away. The hotel staff also gave us a really good map that helped us decide our itinerary of all the places to see.

  • We had just flown in from Europe and wanted to stay somewhere peaceful, luxurious, and with a view of the lake. The Sofitel was all of these. Our spacious and well-appointed room on the 29th floor (a "luxury king room") proved the perfect place to unwind. After a long walk around downtown Chicago and dinner, we came back and enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar, sitting on a comfy sofa. The bed was wonderful, and the bathroom featured both a bathtub and a separate shower with rain shower head.

I liked the light breakfast which was provided daily as I'm not a big breakfast eater, the fruit and juice were fine. My 10yr old son appreciated the wifi throughout the hotel. And we loved the fireplace in the lobby.

    Our Kind of Town

Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.

The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.

Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.

Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.
