There's lots to do in Erie,,I love the beach,it's great for little kids,, splash lagoon is nice for all ages,, however I think it's a little pricey,,,lots of shopping areas,,, winery's,,, beautiful scenery out by the lake,We drove into New York to the Indian reservation and bought cigs,,10$ a bag in which equals a carton,, hubby's snuff is 17$ in Pa it's almost 30,,, Gas was 3,15 a gallon...yep I filled up!!

We went in the deep of winter to experience the lake and do some hiking. Erie Bluffs State Park and Presque Isle State Park were really nice without people and bugs of summer. Everyone we met was very nice and welcoming. I loved the multi-ethnic vibes, food places, neighborhoods, and waterfront of Erie. I was invited to attend an Eastern Orthodox service at a cool little church on Sunday morning as I walked around some of the older neighborhoods. The people and the church were beautiful. The Maritime Museum and walking by the working ship yards was very cool.

We travel to Erie previously quite a few times there was our first time staying at this hotel had I had more time off work I would have liked to stay longer maybe not at this hotel itself. Me and my spouse took our kids to Splash Lagoon which was excellent very tiring we ate at Smokey Bones which was amazing everything was real close to the hotel which was good. I would just recommend that hotel stating that there's no microwaves in the room.

We loved Presque Isle.
We loved Presque Isle. We spent some time walking the trails. The layout of the city is good, so you can find your way around easily. The zoo was a disappointment. You can tell, they are working on it but it still is a sad situation.

We were lucky and had beautiful weather.
We were lucky and had beautiful weather. So we spent most of out time outside at the Presque Isle recreation areas, eating outside, etc. If we had not been so fortunate we would have visited the Maritime Museum and the Art Museum and other places of interest to us. There are also so many great eateries, and in a 4-day visit like ours we could only sample a few.

I love being on the beach at Sunset & taking pictures, watching the waves come in, being in the sand & sun. Applebee's had Great food and service, I had the steak mashed potatoes broccoli delicious 6 oz steak, my husband had a hamburger, it was delicious, grandson had mac and cheese and chicken tenders his was fine, son-in-law had shrimp, he loved it.
The employees were very nice, respectful and friendly. The gentleman who checked us in gave us an upgrade to a room with a hot tub as soon as we got there which was very nice, Although he was not aware of it this it was our anniversary and one of the first things we have been able to do without kids or grandkids we are raising that was with just us 2. There is so much that is so accessible from your hotel as well, I loved that we could do an unlimited amount of things and drive only 15 minutes away.
Picked this hotel for the simple reason that there was olivers restaurant at the top of the hotel. From the moment the wife and I walked to the Hampton we knew we picked the right place. The hotel was very clean and during covid we were skeptical. Nothing but very kind service and that's not even the best part. Go upstairs and get served some delicious food at olivers. We will definitely be going back in June. We may have just found our spot.
Breakfast - awesome! Front desk employee, Emily - amazing! Some problems w/our suite - moved us immediately to a different one. Everyone was super friendly. I highly recommend Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Erie-Summit Township! Given the present state of all industries experiencing issues w/getting employees, this staff, although somewhat limited was incredible!
Clean convenient good price. We needed a place to stay one night on our long drive from Jacksonville Florida to Niagara in Canada & thought Erie would be a fun short exploration on our way. most hotels we look d at were high priced for only one night. Wingate was very reasonable clean friendly service nice room great breakfast. We loved it.
it was it a one night stay and all I need for one night is an easy check in/check out, clean quiet room, good parking and easy entry/exit from my road trip. I did not get to see the breakfast because I already had plans outside the hotel for a family gathering. So no comment there. Front desk was really nice.
The best concierge service we have ever experienced! Went above and beyond our expectations. Accommodations were more than adequate for the price. Special thanks to concierge Chris for taking care of every issue or concern during our stay. Very honest and prompt service.
I live outside of Pittsburgh, PA. When I need to get away, but don’t want to go far, Erie is often my last minute choice. So cheap is key. Between the “also very cheap” red roof inn right next door, Motel 6 wins. I’ve always liked Motel 6 for the price, but also,
No signs of dust; my husband and I have been in other hotels that we have an allergic reaction to the amount of dust blowing around- especially when the AC kicks on.. but not here. The pool is the best feature. Comfy beds and pillows. Clean lobby. Good breakfast.
Very cozy B&B in historic house. The manager Chris is going like a machine... making sure all the guests feel comfortable, fixing breakfast, cleaning the place.
Location is close to downtown Erie, to all the bars and restaurants. Also reasonably priced!
The staff was friendly . I liked that they had internet streaming apps available to watch . I also appreciated the living room area. The hotel was the nicest by far of any we stayed at on the way. I wish all of our hotels were like this one.
The hotel is new and is very clean. It’s within walking distance of Aldi’s which is great if you need something to eat as there is a small refrigerator in the room. I found the hotel staff to be polite and accommodating.
The room and facilities were very clean. The staff was very polite and the guests were very friendly as well. We would love to return back to this hotel for a future stay.
On or way to Chicago, we decided to have a one-night stay in Erie. Hotel was okay, directly at the water. Room was good and clam. Nicely located at the waterfront.
