Jupiter Hotel Good 7.7 The Staff was amazing, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were stylish and fun. The hotel has a resturant and club venue and I must say that the noise level stayed under control. Central location, my friend and I were able to walk to DT Portland in 20 minutes. The Doug Fir lounge has great food and drinks. I am in my late 30's and would reccomend this hotel to anyone especially if you are a lover of vintage and mid-century modern.
Sentinel, a Provenance Hotel Wonderful 9 Loved everything about the place. Their renovations were cool. Friendly, professional staff. I had requested a nice view (via Booking.com) since this was a birthday trip , so they upgraded us to an available corner suite. It was above and beyond what I'd expected. This was my second stay at the Governor. I will stay there again.
The Mark Spencer Hotel Excellent 8.7 European feel. Small but comfortable room, completely redone recently. Not extravagant but just right for me. Friendly, helpful staff at reception.
Hotel Modera Excellent 8.8 decor and comfort. Staff was nice and they allowed me a late check out.
The Benson Hotel Excellent 8.7 This is a grand olde hotel with some classic early 20th century features. The rooms are comfortable, though the bathrooms are smaller than in newer hotels. The windows actually open, which means you aren't choking down air conditioned air constantly. The location is great -- on the boundary between downtown and the Pearl District. Powell's Bookstore is nearby. This area is on the corners of several interesting neighbourhoods. One of Portland's famous food truck zones is a couple of blocks away. Good coffee shops, wine bars, and brew pubs are within easy walking distance. It is easy to take the MAX Rail from the airport to downtown and walk a couple of blocks to the hotel. Unless you are in love with your car, you don't need one in Portland given the quality of transit system. The concierge is friendly and helpful. The service is excellent and you are made to feel welcome. The staff are clearly proud of the history of the hotel.
The Palms Motel Good 7.1 We had an end room and never heard a sound from even the street. Asked for more coffee and no problem getting it.we even stayed an extra night, would stay again for sure.
Days Inn Portland Good 7.8 convenient to access road for downtown
Portland Convention Hotel Good 7.5 staff very courteous and cheerful. Always happy to help .
Inn at the Convention Center Pleasant 6.9 Close to event. Parking was close to door and off street.
Shilo Inn Portland Rose Garden Good 7.5 very helpful staff, clean, good location, city is wonderfully quirky, has great pubs, restaurants, food, people, and is great for solo traveling
