Redondo Beach is a nice community.
We went to a restaurant near the pier and had a beautiful sunset view. The restaurant, Shrimp Lover, was not fancy and was basically Thai with seafood, had a great beach/pier view. My companion had wanted to go to the restaurant on the pier but we could not park close enough (she walks slowly with a cane due to pain/disability). The parking lot was about 100 feet from Shrimp Lover, with no stairs necessary.
I would explore more next time, but this visit was for family bereavement issues.

We were staying one night to avoid returning home in the dark. Besides sleeping we spent very little time at the property since we were visiting for Thanksgiving. The room was a comfortable size, but somewhat drab. The plumbing worked, the temperature control was easy to use and effective. We were quite satisfied. We were comfortable leaving our car for the afternoon and evening.

This is one of the lesser-known gems of Los Angeles.
This is one of the lesser-known gems of Los Angeles. It's more laid-back than Santa Monica or Venice, and it's more upscale than Long Beach. This hotel was perfectly positioned to take advantage of everything that the area offered. Five minute drive to the beautiful beach. (I wouldn't recommend walking; it's LA after all.)
When you get to the beach, you'll find a cement bike/pedestrian walkway that continues for miles and miles along the shoreline. Take a walk on it or rent a bike! You can, for example, walk or bike a short two miles to the Redondo Beach pier, home of interesting restaurants.
That same drive puts you in the heart of "Hollywood Riviera" village, a collection of shops and restaurants that's well worth exploring.
All in all, this is the part of LA that Angelenos hope you never find.

Redondo Beach is a very special city for me and my family.
Redondo Beach is a very special city for me and my family. My husband lived there for 45 years, he raised all his children and grandchildren, it is one of the most attractive cities, family-oriented, excellent schools, quality of life, tranquility, better landscapes, great walks, food, wine, day and night life, museums , shopping walks, very well maintained by the City. Wide beaches, the unforgettable sunsets of the Pacific, sports people, riding bicycles, enjoying long walks with the family, on skates or skateboards. Totally recommendable, the beach areas have a high level of people, businesses, attractions wherever you look at it.

I love the variety of restaurants and shops in Redondo Beach. There are dozens of choices for patio dining. It’s very walkable and there are plenty of rental bikes and scooters should your feet tire. The farmer’s market is a must see. And the sunsets shouldn’t be missed.

Great location, room size/kitchen, breakfast, gym, pool,...
Great location, room size/kitchen, breakfast, gym, pool, jacuzzi. Front desk staff needs training in customer service. Had to beg for my points to be added, as gal stated reservation was under my husband, when in fact it wasn't Was promised late check out from manager the day before, and staff would not assist. Stated they were booked that night. We cleaned the room: stripped bed, took out trash and all maid had to do was mop/ wipe shower. We ate at Fish Bar, great food. Rented bikes in Hermosa beach, rode 20 miles.
The location is pretty nice, next to the main road 1, a few nice restaurants around as well as pretty nice area, called Rancho Palos Verdes, where you can enjoy walking or admiring cliff views. Also, not far from airport LAX. There is parking around the hotel for free. The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our room was clean and the location - quite convenient in a short drive's lenght from Redondo beach and right next to Target and some restaurants. It wasn't too noisy and we were able to enjoy good night's sleep after long days of exploring LA. Staff was friendly.
Friendly, family owned business. Location, free parking. Bathroom is in a bedroom, so if you have company over, you have to go through the bedroom, but really it's a hotel, thinking it was an apartment comples at somepoint. OVerall, was a super good experience.
have stayed at the hotel a few times now, love the location, l do think all places are doing there best to recover from covid 19 , so a little slack is needed, to help businesses get back on their feet.....will be back to USA next year and the portofino.
Great location, walk to Redondo Pier an Beach,Broadwalk to Hermosa beach.Great swimming pool area,And restaurants just across the road.Staff always greet you when entering the Hotel.Caught a taxi to manhattan Beach. The pier an restaurants are great there.
No breakfast despite advertised as being included Hotel carpet and hallways outdated ,elevator small and slow. No rooftop bar, the hot tub was used by children despite sign saying under 10 not allowed no hotel staff monitoring this. Location good
The staff was very friendly. Parking was easy and covered. There are cute little tables/ chairs/ couches in the courtyard area to relax outside. Location was great. Walkable to nearby restaurants and the redondo pier/beach was a 10-15 min walk.
The area was SO perfect! Close to restaurants and the beach. Walked everywhere. It’s more updated than the pictures online; so that’s a bonus. It’s not a luxury hotel or anything but it was perfect for us and so much fun!
I checked out as soon as I checked in never stayed the night but still got charged. I saw people not staying at the hotel let in by staff to swimm and party it was packed at the pool because of this
The hotel looks brand new. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was well laid out and the bed and bedding comfortable.
