    The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and was featured on numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle stands not far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

Hotels that guests love in Seattle

    • Excellent location: close to downtown - Space Needle, Museums, Pike Market and Waterfront. Wonderful boutique hotel yet child friendly.

    • I was in Seattle to take the CFA exam at The Conference Center (located on the property of the Washington State Convention Center). I chose the Homewood Suites because of its close proximity to the Convention Center and the better value relative to the "luxury" hotels nearby.

    • The view is amazing. Do yourself a favor and splurge for a waterfront view. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are quiet, although not overly spacious. The hotel has a lodge feel without being kitschy. The staff were friendly and always helpful. You are within an easy walk of downtown Seattle, Pike Market, the ferry docks, and some beautiful shops. We would stay there again without hesitation.

    • This was a really good find; a nic hotel at an affordable priec in Seattle. The location was terrific. A nice walk down the waterfront to the main city. Just a block from the Space Needle and surrounding area. Good local restaurants. Highly recommended.

    • The hotel has a great location. It is within 2 or 3 blocks of the major shops in the downtown area. Many of Seattle's best restaurants are within walking distance. The Seattle Art Museum and Pike's Place Market are also within walking distance. The monorail to Seattle Center is 2 blocks away as is light rail to the airport. As a bonus, the location is in the flat part of downtown making it less of a climb to get around.
