Don't linger here, treat it as a transport hub, the city has lost what charm it had from the soviet times and is now full of ugly construction plots, soulless glass boxes, and honking cars. Also, the city is craaazily russified, it's just sad to see these bits of colonial rule still doing strong(
Just get out of here as soon as you can and explore the real charm of Uzbekistan elsewhere.

Every person in Tashkent goes out of the way to help you though the language is a barrier. If they see you need help they volunteer and come forward to help. Very friendly and hospitable locals. I would love to visit again for the cleanliness and the friendly attitude of the locals. The local cuisine was great.

It's just like any other big cities that there are museums, markets, monuments etc. I really enjoy the food in Tashkent, yummy and fresh. It's good that many people I encounter get to speak English and that saves my trouble.

We visited Tashkent as part of a private tour, we had overnight stays in Tashkent 3 times during our trip. The city is easy accessible, but don't expect to see a lot of historical (very old monuments or buildings), that is reserved for the other cities. The momument of the waiting mother (2nd worldwar) I found most impressive and I need to compliment the people that designed the set up with the books with all the names of fallen soldiers. Also impeccable maintained and recommend to go and see this impressive memorial.

The weather is different in different cities like Tashkent, Samarghand, and Bukhara. I was going from warm winter jacket and shoes to shirt and sandals in one day; check the weather before heading out and have extra clothing in your day trips. Dollar works well almost everywhere, but make sure to not pay too much for taxi and neg. with taxi drivers. Good food and inexpensive. Bukhara and a local restaurant in Samarghand, my tour guide took me there, with vegetarian options were my favorites. Being vegetarian is not easy in Uzbekistan since their main food ingredient is meat. Very safe country especially for female travelers with friendly people, however, timing is not their priority. Enjoy the hospitality of Uzbekistan.

its my second time to be here.
its my second time to be here.
ironically i was there both sort of holiday season.
first time it was Eid ul-Fitr and this time it was new year season.
in conclusion im absolutely not recommend you to visit tashkent during enew year season.
lots of service close down or keep open but not gonna gave you service or give you the proper service.
whole service people's mind losen up due to this new year thing.
I dont know why but in this country new year looks way much bigger than Eid ul-Fitr.
The apartment is super cosy, clean and comfortable. You can find all you could forget for your stay (even medicine and 🪡 needles) quality of linen are at the good hotel standards, bathrobes a bit small in size. Welcoming heart of Uzbek nation feels everywhere so the Staff, neighbors are friendly and helpful. locates in the heart of Tashkent city with beautiful view to the park and fountains. shops and restaurants are walking distance. We are happy to choose Gardens Residence again for our next trip.
While the hotel is not in the middle of Tashkent sights, it is only a quick and cheap Yandex away, but there are many good restaurants and wine shops all within walking distance and there is an ATM literally next door to the hotel :) The breakfast was excellent with many choices and delicious coffee included unlike in other parts of Uzbekistan. Comfortable bed, great shower and helpful staff make it a great place to stay and even rooms near the elevator aren't noisy....bonus!
I really liked the breakfast and the location was very comfortable to find. The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service. Everything was perfect. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting to Tashkent
The property was very nice--had a lovely courtyard. The hotel staffs were pretty good. The room was clean--not big but for a solo traveller like me, it was more than enough.
The hotel location is a bit remote, I mean from the city center, restaurants or other main attractions. It's inside a very quiet residential neighbourhoods. But getting arouns Tashkent is cheap if you have Yandex in your phone.
Overall, good decent hotel, would recommend others.
The staff was welcoming and helpful to our every request they gave us an umbrella when it was raining
Everything was very clean
Even the budget room was with heated floors
Breakfast was varied and tasty
It is about 15 min from the central area by foot
Nearest restaurant is 1 min away and is great
The lovely staff of musafir hotel made sure our first stop in Uzbekistan was excellent
we highly recommend it to everyone
This is not a usual hotel, this is a city landmark. It represents the genius loci of Tashkent, a masterpiece of sovietic brutalism. This is the spirit you need to adopt when spending one or more night at the Uzbekistan Hotel: the accomodation and hospitality standards cannot be compared to the ones of modern top-end hotels, but you're time-traveling to another hera. A must, in my opinion.
Staff are kind and nice. My girlfriend felt sick at that time and they kindly allowed us to enter a room and then I did check-in procedure while she was lying on the bed. The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom is covered with blue tiles and very clean. We got our best hot shower in Uzbekistan. A mini supermarket is located next to the hotel and it’s really convenient.
Perfect location, right next to the park and 10mins from main square.
Room was great, modern with very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was best we had in Uzbekistan- in incredible buffet spread.
The gym was surprisingly well equipped and it has a sauna and steam room too (the Pool wasn’t in use seemingly).
Reception staff warm and kind.
It’s a good hotel, with an excellent breakfast.
Close to the metro and 15 min away from the city center (on foot).
Quiet and safe area. The staff are young, very professional, polite, smiling… EXCELLENT
The first choice if you visit Tashkent!!
Good price and good quality
Every thing in this hotel is perfect. Staff is real friendly, supportive and accomodative. Their manager Mr. Hassan is one gem of a person who has proven to be a best host one can imagine. A must and a highly recomended place for all tourists coming to tashkent.
In Tashkent city South hotel is excellent and clean along with new infrastructure
Staff was too much good .polite, cooperative and supportive . breakfast was amazing one more thing hotel is near to airport if again i visit Tashkent i will stay in south hotel
I would like this hotel. Because It is very comfortable for transport like near local metro. As well as breakfast is very fresh and delicious. I totally recommend this hotel for visitors and price is cheaper than other hotels.
The best hotel I stayed at in Uzbekistan.
Staff went extra miles to help. The breakfast normally starts at 7am, but the owner made it possible for us to have breakfast at 6:30am. Much appreciated!
The best hotel I have ever been. Location is perfect. Tashkent tower, magic city and different kind of amenities are near to hotel. Workers of the hotel so polite and kind.
Super clean and confortable, staff is very nice and helpful. Well located. I stayed at a few of the top rated hotels in Tashkent and this was the best one.
