It is a very neat little town with quaint houses and buildings everywhere. The views are spectacular and the town is clean. We found the staff were very friendly wherever we went. Wasn't fully prepared for the cold. Thankfully the pubs and restaurants had fabulous wood burning fires. People of Clarens, shop and restaurant owners,are so warm and friendly. A variety of activities from shopping to hiking or just enjoying a cold one in the pub. The overall atmosphere was great and laid-back—perfect for a holiday. However, the Koporasie Restaurant was a major disappointment. The staff lacked attention to detail and showed poor customer service. Most concerning was the hygiene standard, which urgently needs improvement. In this day and age, there’s no excuse for cockroach sightings, especially with the many effective pest control measures available.
