Situated on the outskirts of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, Maenan Abbey Hotel stands on the site of an original thirteenth-century Cistercian monastery.
Built as a gentleman's residence in 1850, the property features a magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and blazing winter log fire. Whilst maintaining its historic traditions, Maenan Abbey offers all modern hotel facilities. All 14 bedrooms are en suite and are decorated in a style sympathetic to the period of the building.

Booked rather on a short notice, but totally enjoyed! The atmosphere is like a little bit medieval in a good way, we enjoyed a lot a dinner - such a fast serving and tasty dishes, cocktails in the lounge! Great stuff, very friendly and helpful!

A definite highlight of our 7 week holiday and disappointed had only booked for the one night. Next time will book for longer. Owner and staff were SO friendly and accommodating. 100% would recommend this as a place to stay. Location was great. Close to other places of interest but away from any hustle and bustle. Lovely and quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

Also very central for travelling to the coast or the mountains. Excellent choice for breakfast, especially the option of smoked salmon. Liked the option of fresh milk available in a fridge in the dining room for teas or coffees.

The room was fantastic and I loved that the place is animal friendly. There was a cat asleep on the fireplace in the bar and it was a perfect little touch to make the place feel more homely. Couldn't recommend the place any more highly!

We was staying in lodge 6 it was beautiful, very clean, comfortable bed has all kitchen equipment to use. It was lovely quiet and has a gorgeous view we both loved the view of the river, forest, countryside. Myself and my boyfriend enjoyed our holiday and we will definitely come back in the future!JenniferYoung couple
