The wildlife is amazing, particularly the birds. I saw dozens of species, just walking around, including many humming birds, tanegers, and a white hawk. I also spotted a family of agouti. When the weather clears there is also a view of the volcano.

Very calm: next to the jungle and close to the center. Facilities were super clean and comfortable, very nice bed Free fill of water bottles.

The view was amazing. The breakfast offered a huge variety of delicious food. The pizza by the pool was delicious. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom with large plan and skylight was lovely. The buggy to and from reception was a lovely touch.

Located in Uvita, 8.1 miles from Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, Ballena Rey Hotel has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Everything was really good! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The apartment was equipped with many cooking appliances. The breakfast was a buffet and it was delicious.

Great hotel with comfortable clean rooms. The view of the volcano from the pool is amazing. Really liked the seating area outside the rooms. The breakfast was amazing, really big and good variety. Nice pool at the hotel and it’s also great that you get access to the thermal pools at the sister hotel. It’s within walking distance to lots of restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great included night walk to see the frogs. Big and convenient apartment. Nice pool. Super friendly staff that even prepared a very tasty breakfast for us at 5am.

The entire experience exceeded our hopes, starting with the excellent food, the location, the outside area . the garden is full of hummingbirds 😊 What truly stood out was the cleanliness of the place. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. A big thank you to the ladies who cleaned the rooms — they were kind, efficient, and always had a smile on their faces. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. A special mention must go to Fabricio at reception, who was without a doubt the best receptionist we've ever met. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of, helping with everything from local tips to making sure our needs were met. His professionalism and friendliness truly made a difference. We would gladly return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay!
