Really good breakfast, amazing view of castle, nicest staff and newly remodeled. There was water and snacks in room and we got upgraded without asking. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Incredible catle right in front of Bergclick hotel with hawks and eagles demonstrartions at 11 and 15 o'clock and Wisriesenwelt, an enormous cave with ice all around inside that makes you feel like walking innanother world during a guided tour.

This town is a must visit for someone who is looking for...
This town is a must visit for someone who is looking for something different. Eisriesenwelt is largest Ice Cave in the world and it is totally worth it, nice little adventure. There is also Hohenwerfen fortress next to the town, it was interesting to me as it was filming location of Where Eagles Dare, a great WWII themed film with Burton and Eastwood. But sadly it was not emphasised enough in castle itself. In any case great place to visit. I bet it is beautiful in winter too for the guys who like snow and skiing.

If you get a chance to stay here, do it! This place is a dream. The views alone are miraculous, with a view of the mountains and hills all around, and the castle in the middle of the valley. You can also see an adorable little town nestled up against the peaks. The apartment itself is fantastic, clean, completely updated and new, with beautiful rooms and a modern feel. The family is generous with their time and help, and the farm is full of animals: bunnies, kittens, chickens, goats, horses, etc. We visited with all the animals, but the girls especially loved the kittens! All they wanted to do was pet them. The farm is close to so many sites, with the castle right there, and Salzburg and Hallstatt only an hour away. We stayed three nights and were so sad to leave.

This beautiful town has plenty for the eyes to feast on. With the Hohenwerfen fortress overlooking the town and the mountainous backdrop, you'll think you've just stepped into a novel. Wear comfortable footwear - above anything else. This'll ensure you're ready to take in all you can. The fortress is stunning - not only to look at (and photograph, of course) but to visit. Good online price, hours of activity for all ages. Do be aware that the guided tours are timed - all in your ticket (no need to book) but you can have a bit of a wait. That said, there's plenty to view and do. Back to the town: Go across the river and take a look from the other side. The trains to /from Salzburg are really good value, frequent and comfortable too. Not only a wonderful view of the nearby mountain peaks, but you could see Werfen castle from the bedroom windows as well. The setting was picturesque and wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. You do have to drive up onto the mountain side about 10 minutes--but that's part of what made it so fantastic. The breakfast was excellent both days, and the staff always friendly. A welcome drink is a nice touch. The road to the hotel is a little twisty but no more than that. Plenty of places to eat a short drive away. Parking at the hotel is easy. The room was cosy but big enough for the two of us and two large suitcases. Everything is in good order and very clean.

The hotel was close to the Hohenwerfen Castle: 9-11 minutes walk to the bottom part. I think I got the best room: on the 2nd floor with balcony, view at the mountains and the castle. The staff were the owners themselves. (husband and wife). Super friendly, nice and flexible. Cozy room. Delicious breakfast. Fair price. More restaurants in the neighbourhood.

The house is full and well equipped. There is so much space that 9 people felt comfortable. The owner is super friendly. I strongly recommend this place. And remember. It is next to the old church so be prepared for bells ringing at 6.00 am. :)
