The bathroom had mold on the walls. The bed was no boxspring but 10 cm from the ground. A lot of steps inside the room. Old furniture. everything was tired, old and dirty. Time to completely renovate the place!

This is a lovely town with lots of beautiful areas for walking a short, or long distance. The Fenikshof has great food and beer, and the local frituur (near the Sports Hall) had perfect Belgian frites. The abbey is a must see and the night we were there, they were having a silent movie festival with the beautiful pipe organ providing live music!

Breakfast buffet offered a great choice The hotel is a great departure point for shorter and longer walks to the historical center of Grimbergen and the green surroundings with waterways and mills. Visiting the Sunday market, which was really big and varied for the size of the town, is another great activity! We booked one night before and value was great for the last-minute-price.
