A lovely spot on Lake Geneva with beautiful views.
A lovely spot on Lake Geneva with beautiful views. (I personally think it's the most beautiful place on the whole lake.) It's no wonder that Charlie Chaplin chose to live in this area. When you stay you receive a Riviera Card which gives you free bus travel to places like nearby Montreux, which is also well worth a visit.

Sweet little town close to Montreux.
Sweet little town close to Montreux. Quiet over the weekend with a few interesting sights to visit. Nice lakeside with lots of restaurants and cafes (all closed on Sunday when we visited). Quite a few cute cafes were open in the town though.

Beautiful relaxing little town.
Beautiful relaxing little town. Walked around the waterfront and the old town. Also loved the easy access to Geneva and the small towns around.
I'd probably avoid staying in the area next to the station coz it felt sketchy.
Lots of lovely restaurants and take away places all around

Vevey is a lovely small city on Lake Geneva.
Vevey is a lovely small city on Lake Geneva. It has old cobblestone streets in the historic area, and lovely sidewalks all along the lake. It's a convenient hopping off point for other interesting places to visit and a stone's throw from Chillon Castle.

The city is clean and lively.
The city is clean and lively. But it was full of all these young.men in groups (immigrants) hanging on every corner and particular around the city centre train station, hustling...begging....selling
Really intimidating and disappointing.

We came to Vevey specifically to see the Charlie Chaplin...
We came to Vevey specifically to see the Charlie Chaplin museum/estate, as my wife was a Chaplin/silent film fan since she was a child. Well worth the trip with a full overview of Chaplin's life, family life, movie career, and humanitarian interests. Plan to spend 4-5 hours there.
I booked a private suite and 2 deluxe rooms, and decided to treat my parents and let them have the private suite. I admit that the private suite gets a different score than the deluxe because it is quite luxurious, but given that I stayed in the deluxe room, that is the basis of the poor score. I will note that the staff was very formal and nice (but no more nicer than that of the several other Swiss hotels I stayed at, whose hospitality went above and beyond).
I must also note that views from the common balconies were absolutely glorious.
Great location next to the train station. You receive a free public transport card for the duration of your stay, which is very useful. The room had a microwave and a kettle, which was enough for a quick breakfast or supper. There are two supermarkets right next to the hotel and the hotel offers a parking space, which is a bit tricky to access as the instructions weren't that clear, but otherwise it's quite handy.
Just 10 mins walk from the station. 30 second walk to the lake/Chaplin statue.
Room is spacious.
Got the basics covered.
Note: ask for the Montreux pass(free rides and discounts to places) when you check-in so you dont have to ask at another times when the staff is not there yet, and you have to wait.
Great view of Lake Geneva & the alps
good location
great service by all the hotel team :) esp Gwen who served us during breakfast & shared with us abt the history of the hotel and went extra mile to bring us to see the ball room ceiling , the painting in the bar etc…
Guest House Le Charlot is on Vevey’s main square right in the center of everything and 30 seconds from lakefront. the Guest House is simple and each room is fully self contained. Management was easy to work with and Madame who came each day was wonderful.
Everything! The staff were exceptional, the location was perfect..close to every amenity and beautiful Lake Geneva, all within short walking distances. The room was eqipped with everything in kitchen for cooking, the bed very comfortable.
Friendly staff, beautiful view, lovey garden. The room was clean and cozy. 25 minutes walk from vevey station was for me no problem. I enjoyed to walk on the lakeside, it was very beautiful. Next time I would stay longer with my family!
The location was great, the room was spacious and clean. There was a lift to the floor and first impressions were good. The hotel supplied complimentary regional transport tickets which was a great help.
