We arrived on a freezing cold day and were relieved to walk into a lovely warm reception area. Check in was excellent with smiling welcoming staff. The room was clean and spacious with a wonderfully powerful shower. The bed mattress was comfy but unfortunately there was only one Spanish type long pillow which was typically hard and uncomfortable. The heating unit was strangely situated over the bed (room 212) and worked quickly and efficiently. The hotel has no parking but there is free street parking in the vicinity. would definitely stay here again.

Maria was very nice to us and provided us with oil and vinegar from her own home so that we could cook. The apartment is in a great location in the cave barrio, you can walk into the city center but when you come home to the apartment you are back in the quiet of the countryside. For a couple this home provides ample privacy but for more people it is important to be aware that the three bedrooms are all in a row, one behind the other, with only curtains separating them, and no private entrance. You have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the second through the second bedroom to get to the third. We had a pleasant stay and would return.

Benalua is a small Spanish village that I love because to me it's the real spain, it's not touristy but the Spaniards are so friendly.
Places do close in summer from 2pm to 5.30pmsp get your shopping in before or after these times.
There's a SPAR, Coviran and other super market near the school.
The mountains called End of the World are only 10 mins drive away and worth a visit.
You have the town of Guadix only 10 mins away too by car which is much more lively.
I would recommend you rent a car for freedom.
I would say it's more for adults and not kids due to the location.
Overall highly recommended anyone visit the place.
Oh and you have to visit the vine yard called la bodega.
