Casa de las Flores - Hotel Boutique Lanzarote, hotel in Teguise

Casa de las Flores - Hotel Boutique Lanzarote has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Teguise. This 4-star hotel offers a concierge service and a tour desk.

We loved everything about this hotel! It is not only beautifully decorated, but the rooms are very comfortable and furnished with everything you could need. It is clear much attention is given to the guests needs including sound isolation from the traffic of an adjacent street. A fabulous 4-course breakfast every morning was just a delightful start to our day. None of this is surprising when you meet the Owner, Oscar, who was incredibly helpful and a just a wonderful host in every way. In addition, the hotel’s location in the center of historical Teguise was a perfect location to enjoy the charming ambiance of this lovely town, filled with plenty of shops and restaurants. Although it is a busy town, parking was surprisingly easy as well and it’s central location on the island also made every point of interest easily accessible. Of course, we always had Oscar’s help, which made this the absolutely perfect stay.

Loved the old town of Teguise with the lovely church and town square at it's centre. Lovely and quiet, a great place to relax. Lovely little castle (Santa Barbara) which was free so worth a visit. Very central on the island so a good base to explore Lanzarote from. Main roads close enough to be convenient without being able to hear them when in the town. We had hired a car but I didn't see any buses so may be quiet difficult to get to if you don't drive. Little playground for children and several small shops. Great market every Sunday. Perfect for buying any presents you need for people back home. Does mean some of the roads are closed but we didn't find it too difficult to get out of the town afterwards. Restaurants were always full so had to travel to Costa Teguise to eat in the evening which meant we couldn't drink due to driving but we didn't mind too much and just kept more wine in the villa to enjoy on the balcony afterwards with the great view of the church and the volcanoes in the background which was much better than in a restaurant anyway. Quiet a few vinyards nearby. Beach and more lively area of Costa Teguise 15-20 mins drive

I've visited the art market on sunday. I walked from Munique to Teguise. The market and village were crowded but cosy. Just outside the center there's an excellent Italian restaurant "Disfrutar". The village exudes a serene atmosphere and looks picturesque. Worth a visit.

Teguise is a great location if you want a quiet holiday away from the big resorts. The town itself is lovely, though there isn't that much to see. The pirate museum in Castillo Santa Barbara is worth a visit though. We were a little disappointed with the market - while huge, it was mostly full of stalls selling knock-off designer gear, and it didn't have much character. There isn't a huge selection of restaurants, but the ones that are there are all very good. We'd recommend Hesperides for sheer deliciousness and Acatife is very good if you want to try traditional Canarian fare. We found Teguise to be an excellent base for exploring the northern half of the island on foot. There are waymarked walks from Teguise to Caleta de Famara, Guatiza, Haria and San Bartolome. It has excellent bus links as well, so it's easy to get back at the end of the day.

Wandering round the pedestrianised old part of town was interesting. The church tower was especially well lit at night from outside and inside at the top showing all the bells. The Sunday market was huge and well patronised by locals and tourists. The parking for visitors was well marshalled and near the centre. The restaurants varied from top end to cafes with snacks. Our favourite was La Cantina with several separate rooms. The menu was mainly local dishes with some Canarian wines and other Spanish wines.

Teguise has more history than we had at first realised; fascinating museums to visit and great art exhibitions in and close to the village. Several great places to eat and drink. No need to hire a car, the buses are efficient and cheap.

This is the third time we have travelled to Teguise. It is fairly quiet through the week but crowded every Sunday for the huge market. Most eateries are really good but do NOT eat at La Cantina... awful.
