Not much is going on in this small city.
Not much is going on in this small city. Also very hard to circulate downtown, not to mention a dire need of parking near businesses. It has a beautiful monastery worth visiting. It also has a diverse population of workers.

Abbaye de/Abbey of Brou (monastère royal de/royal monastery of Brou) is beautiful and just 1 km walking from the town center. It is one of only 80 locations granted the title of National Monuments/Monuments Nationaux and the burial side of Marguerite d’Autriche/Marguerite of Asutria (Habsburg) and her husband Philibert le Beau/Philippe the Handsome. Both are important figures in European history. Their tombs are magnificent.
The town itself is pleasant but without major points of interest. The region is nice to visit and perfect for a longer holiday.

The best place to visit is the Royal Monastery of Brou (but be aware that it closes between 12-2pm. Just 10-15 mins walk from centre of town. Really interesting historically with a wonderful art display as well.

While not really a tourist destination, when one becomes more familiar with Bourg, the village is indeed great for shopping. Many tasteful clothing/shoe shops are enclosed in and surrounded by a village which has great charm potential (lovely old architecture much of it in need of renovation and repair). Over several decades of dining at our favorite Georg Blanc restaurant, we've had the pleasure of discovering the rest of this town.

The hotel was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet. We had the ‘express’ breakfast which was an excellent alternative and suited us as we only take a light breakfast. The hotel offered parking on the premises and was a fifteen minute or so walk into the centre of town. It was also very close to the Abbaye de Bru which you really shouldn’t miss. The staff were very helpful, so there was really nothing to fault. We loved the hotel and would stay there again if we were in the region. We recommend it without any reservations.
Bad experience , we were expecting we will have a room to stay at night after a very long tiring driving since the booking was confirmed but to our surprise upon arrival we do not have any reservation at all , so in the end we must to find a hotel to book to stay for a night in a cold weather , been using booking.com for a long time and its my first bad experience
Interior of hotel is nice and modernized (exterior is a bit drab) and it is clean and comfy and very nice shampoo (nuxe). Plenty of parking on site so good for coming by car and the breakfast was very good with a good selection of stuff. Staff were friendly the check out process was quick.
Quiet, simple studio apartment in a residential neighbourhood.
Was glad for the fan in the room as the days were very hot in Bourg-en-Bresse.
Bed was comfortable for a double.
Parking is convenient being behind the building, right where you have the apartment accesses.
An excellent hotel with a great restaurant, in the center of Bourg-en-Bresse - Great for a stopover or a short visit to the area. The hotel has recently been remodeled and provides a very comfortable stay set in an old and stylish building right downtown.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast. Perfectly located for a stop on the way to the Alps. Only 2 hours from Chamonix or Morzine.
The town itself has a superb cathedral and 5 good restaurants 20 mins or 4 mins drive from the hotel.
was expecting a budget hotel, and it largely was. breakfast was unexpectedly excellent. very happy with that. staff was very friendly. the hotel is also very close to the city centre, everything is in walking distance. would book again.
Good clean budget hotel convenient to A40 motorway. Stopped on way back from skiing in French Alps and was a good place to stay for the night. Restaurant was closed but there were multiple alternatives within a 5-10 minute walk.
The garden , some of the retained architectural features , and being pet friendly. Must have been a magniifiicent grand hotel in the heydays of railway travel.
Clean and tidy. Everything you need and in an excellent location. We have used this hotel before and will again. Local area has restaurants so is ideal.
