Good, location a little walk to the port. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking is safe. Clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast was very good and is a great idea, I wish others did the same, providing a bag so you can take what is over to have later.

Beautiful view hotel with a heated swimming pool, great for kids, right on the beach, with easy access to many good restaurants walking distance away. They also have a wonderful spa for adults to relax after a day of bike riding. I appreciated the staff making our vacation very family friendly and welcoming for us!

Lovely hotel. Well situated in the centre of La Couarde. Our room was spacious and very airy, well kitted out and with two separate beds (by prior arrangement) which isn’t that easy to get, surprisingly. Decoration was very tasteful and all very clean. Staff were very friendly and attentive, even remembering that my travel partner was ill and enquiring about him. Breakfast very nice: excellent bread and croissants and nice touches like choice of salted/unsalted Charente butter, freshly squeezed orange juice and Ile de Re honey.

Typical island village with narrow streets single story houses with walled gardens. Very quiet in March, which is a good time to go if you have a dog, as dogs are banned from beaches from the 1st April.
We had to cook for ourselves as all restaurants were closed due to Covid 19. I'm sure that in normal times it would have been much livelier.
