The largest city in the Champagne-Ardenne, Reims is inextricably linked with this region’s famous sparkling wine. In fact, the city’s symbol - its huge Gothic cathedral - has a window depicting the monk who invented champagne: Dom Perignon. This coronation cathedral of French kings for around a millennium also has stained-glass windows designed by Marc Chagall.
A mosaic detailing champagne production also features on an Art Nouveau building with a barrel-shaped door on Rue de Mars, next to the 17th-century city hall.
But it’s the Reims champagne houses that are stars of the show. Many big brands are headquartered here and some including Pommery and Taittinger offer cellar tours in their underground chalk caves. You can also visit Veuve-Clicquot by appointment. Of course, no tour would be complete without a champagne tasting session, so you may leave feeling a little heady.
As you’d expect of such a prestigious city, there’s no shortage of restaurants, bars and shops including Galeries Lafayette and the Espace d’Erlon shopping centre. Tree-lined Place d’Erlon is considered the heart of the city and is home to the Reims Christmas markets.
Paris Orly Airport is the closest, so chances are you’ll arrive by car. See Booking.com for a great range of Reims accommodation that include parking.
The cathedral was beautiful and our cellar tour was fun.
The cathedral was beautiful and our cellar tour was fun. We found the main square / fountains and took the tram for a trip around and about. It was all very lovely with more than 1 glass of champagne to help things along!

Nice city that can be toured in 1 full day.
Nice city that can be toured in 1 full day. The main attraction is the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Make sure to take the Pommery tour champagne experience (no need to do Villa Demoiselle). Also make sure to visit the automobile museum. Have dinner or lunch around the Place Drouet d'Erlon (which is 5 min walk from the main train station). You can also visit the Basilique Saint-Remi (10 min walk away from Pommery).

A very good place to stay for Champagne lovers and to use as a base to explore the region and is not too far from Epernay by car or train. It also has some very fine examples of Art Deco and Art Nouveau architecture. The cathedral is not to be missed and the Crayères at Ruinart an UNESCO site

Reims is a beautiful city with a wonderful old quarter mainly around the magnificent cathedral. There are countless bars and restaurants from fast food to high end. The tram system is so easy to use. Plus there are the Champagne Houses with some marvellous wine tours.
Great hotel in the city center! We had a room at the 5th floor with the balcony facing inner court and Reims cathedral, stunning view! Very polite service, friendly staff. Big plus that you can park car at the hotel garage for 16 euro per night, so safe and secured parking accessible directly from hotel (just need to reserve in advance). Another benefit is inside swimming pool. Big hotel territory with a lot of facilities, inside court garden where you can have a drink.
Overall really enjoyed the stay and would come back again.
This apartment hotel is suitable for a short visit of Reims. In a few minutes walk, you are in the spacious park (Les Hautes Promenades) bordering the centre. Our apartment was bright, and most importantly, the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had most equipments you need. Additionally, the staff were friendly and helpful. The parking facility, which costs 8 euros per day, is very convenient with the lift taking you from the garage to your floor.
The location is fantastic. Just one street away from excellent restaurants and bars, and a 10-15 minute stroll to the city centre and cathedral. I had a top floor room with balcony and lovely a view of the street below. Very pleasant in the evening. The hotel parking was very convenient for such a city location. I enjoy running and each morning enjoyed jogging along the nearby canal, which offered some peace and quiet away from the city streets.
We love the fact that it is so accessible from the motorway but walking distance of the city centre. Having secure parking is also a bonus. The staff are always approachable and friendly and the rooms are always comfortable and clean.
Whilst it is not 5 star luxury, you always know what you’re getting and the quality of service is always consistently high. Our dog is always welcomed, and there are parks and the canal path nearby to walk her.
We were in room 925 and the bedroom was newly renovated and a great size with all the amenities we needed plus an amazing view of Reims Cathedral. The indoor swimming pool and sauna was perfect for us and we used it each day of our stay. The location was right in the middle of town and 5 mins from the train centre so you couldn’t be in a better position. Lovely hotel - would recommend.
The hotel was clean, welcoming and very well maintained. The location was a ideal, near to the station, public transport and the Promenade. it was both dog and E-vehicle friendly. Breakfast wasn’t fancy, but absolutely fine. Had all the staples. my family of three will certainly come back when the opportunity arises!
The hotel was well located close to the main road past Reims but easy walking distance to nearby restaurants. The adjoining rooms were comfortable with air conditioning and good showers. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good range of food for breakfast which was kept topped up.
The location was excellent! Easy to get to everything and a wide variety of restaurants nearby. The rooftop bar is amazing, beautiful views and wonderful drinks!! Overall the hotel is very cute and the rooms are larger and very comfortable. The staff was very nice and accommodating!
the location was amazing. So close to the cathedral, restaurants and the other sites in the city. many bakeries and grocery stores near buy. Parking was great but a little tricky to get to. I would highly recommend this hotel. the staff was so wonderful and very helpful.
The staff were very welcoming and pleasant, and the location is great. The main building of the hotel is quirky but quaint and full of character. We had a couple disappointments staying here but the staff were really lovely. We could easily walk to the centre of Reims.
The hotel is an an excellent location near the Cathedral and Tourism office. Very easy walking distance to the cobblestoned shopping district and public transit if you need it (we just walked everywhere). Very friendly, helpful staff.
Loved this hotel, Devine would recommend. Great friendly staff. Great location near champagne house, the hotel has free parking, and the breakfast buffet was really good.
Very good hotel. Short walk to centre. Rooms excellent and secure parking in a large garage. Rooms fantastic. Great stop off for Reims while travelling further south.
Guillaume is a fantastic host, he manages one of the nicest, cleanest, and best situated places in Reims. It was one of our best stays throughout France. Merci!
Nice hotel for a motorway stay. Small kitchenette, secure parking, right off major highway. Very large and nice grocery store nearby with several restaurants.
The hotel was very easy to find and well located for the centre of Reims and for a great flea market on the Sunday morning right next door in the market hall.
