Hitchin is a lovely market town. Some of the shops have closed down since my last visit, which is a shame, but the pubs and selection of restaurants is outstanding. The atmosphere is always great in Hitchin and the people are extremely friendly.

Hitchin is a great vibrant market town with an abundance of independent places to eat and chill. There are also the major chain places to eat and drink if you are a little less adventurous. There are plenty of open spaces and playgrounds for the little ones. You can sit in the town square, relax, have a drink and watch the world go by. The locals are friendly and happy to chat and help. The train station is nearby and you can be in the centre of London in under an hour.

Lovely old market town with historic buildings, very grand looking church and a large interesting looking market. Quite lively at night and easily accessible by train but station is a mile or so walk from the centre.

Based on a previous visit I loved Hitchin.
Based on a previous visit I loved Hitchin. However the weather was so hot that this time I spent most of it sitting in the dark in my friends living room trying to keep cool!!
Hitchin has some lovely old buildings, a busy market, lots of places to eat and independent shops. It is within easy reach of London.

Hotel nice worm welcome but needs more security at night...
Hotel nice worm welcome but needs more security at night because kitchen staff wonder in to young girls bedroom at early hours in the morning 12.30am to b more accurately with out there permition young girl very frightened my son was head butted by a member of the kitchen staff because he was protecting his girlfriend from intruder nothing was done about this bad end to a lovely wedding want be going back .
The hotel is in one corner of the jungle very far from the town center. The room carpet had a lot of stains, bed was old and not comfortable to sleep in. the staff don't care about any feedback.
The hotel is ideal for wedding guests, I would next time stay in the town center which was lovely with plenty of eating options.
I was born in Hitchin .so chose it because it was right in middle of the town ....and so we could meet up with friends .Good size shower room ..Cosy ..No lift so staff Excellent carried cases up for us .Staff gave us more milk as only 2 provided . Fan was in room which was lovely to have as weather turned really warm .
We had a terrible stay. There was a power failure due to poor maintenance of the building. The roof fell and we had to move out to find another hotel in the middle of the night. Horrible experience. Will not recommend it to anyone as it's a health and safety risk. The rooms are tired and nothing works.
Breakfast was delicious - prompt service and freshly made. The room was spacious enough for 3 adults and was nicely set over 2 stories. Beds were comfortable and the linen smelt lovely. On-site car park.
Hotel was close to the town centre and surrounded by restaurants and bars.
Was a good location, and "Looks" nice. Lots of potential although it wasnt using it's potential to satisfy completely. ALL staff were amazing and helpful but a little "lost" too. Probably is the best hotel in Hitchin but slightly overpriced for what it is and offers.
A stunning property in an easily accessed location. Convenient for our wedding, Hitchin and Luton airport. Kind hosts welcomed us early to allow us to prepare for the wedding. Very much appreciated!! Instructions and keys/gate code clear and straightforward.
Cheap option.
- 1 minute walk to the Square.
- Free Parking vs paid public parking (but I realised once I was there, this is only a couple mins walk away). Weighing up the pros and cons of staying at this 'hotel', I would stay elsewhere and pay for parking
Great value, lovely breakfast , good wifi and pleasant staff - a different place to stay. The en-suite rooms are equivalent to a travelodge, but overall a much nicer experience. Was good I could park close to my room.
The hotel is very old, quaint and right in the centre of an old quaint town. Staying at Christmas time in Hitchin covered in snow was magical. The hotel was warm and cosy and provided a good breakfast.
Room was adequate for one night stay. This is an old hotel but facilities were ok. Breakfast was lovely and the whole place felt safe. Hotel was very close to my venue so was perfect.
Great location to the town stayed here many times
Good value nice staff rooms little dated and could do with some tlc but I do like to stay here when working this way
