Lavenham is one of the most delightful and beautifully preserved towns in Suffolk.
Quintessentially English and with fabulous local craft shops and Tea shops.
The hospitality of the shop keepers was excellent.
The guided tours and visit to St Peter's and St.Paul's Church was very interesting.
Long Melford is just 4 miles away and there you can visit Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall.
Lavenham is a place I will return to.

Some exquisite buildings, many beautifully preserved and one (the Guildhall) in the care of National Trust. A good selection of independent shops and places to eat ranged from good pub grub to fine dining.
Good also as a centre for visiting other Suffolk landmarks - don't miss Kersey or Finchingfield for unspoiled picturesque villages.

Lovely, ancient town with a good range of shops and amenities etc. The hotel provided a town map, which was really useful and informative. I imagine that it is really busy in summer months, but in March, it was not, so easy to park (free!) and walk around etc......highly recommended location in Suffolk and with a Harry Potter house, used in one of the films!

Lovely olde worlde village which is easy to get around. Shame it was muddy for the 2 village walks each 2 1/2 miles and 5 mile routes.
Plenty of pub/restaurants, free parking and local shops.

Lavenham as a town was beautiful, we loved the sense of History, but the house was very cold. We walked through the town in the evening, the Christmas lights and buildings were magical. We had tea in a small cafe opposite the Guildhall which was perfect. We had our evening meal at the Swan. We were the first guests and were privileged to be treated as though we were royalty. It was a magical experience in a truly wonderful setting. We went into an antique shop that was full of interesting items.
If I were to return, I would stay in a hotel like The Swan where my experience could be more predictable, rather than a self-catering holiday home.
We had the most wonderful 2 night stay this weekend at The Angel. As a large family group visiting from all over the country for a family wedding.
From booking, to making requests and changes, to arrival we were welcomed and looked after wonderfully.
Our evening meal on Friday evening and breakfasts both mornings of our stay were delicious. Drinks prices were decent and the beds and rooms were really spacious and comfortable.
We will 100% be back, I definitely recommend booking here if you are in the area
Lovely, quaint old property set in the beautiful village market square of Lavenham. The property was extremely clean and the staff were polite, friendly and efficient. The room had everything that we needed including tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was lovely especially the cooked full English which was a hearty start to the day. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and the meal was delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyed our staycation albeit only for one (1) night. The room was perfect enjoyed our breakfast as we decided that we had enough food earlier to last until morning.
Met interesting people at breakfast which made our visit more intimate and interesting. The area is very interesting as we visited both Lavenham and Long Melford, tea for 2 in one and alcoholic in another....
Thank you one and all....
The setting is beautiful and quaint. The hotel itself is stunning in the communal areas. The spa was wonderful and relaxing, we very much appreciated the 60 minutes use included in the stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was tasty and efficient. We were there for a honeymoon and the staff left us little fudges, which was so thoughtful and kind.
Good location - on a street of modern houses but the Market Place is literally a stone’s through away. Very clean and just what we needed for an overnight stop for 5 people. On site parking which is very good to have in popular Lavenham. Nice and warm for our arrival.
Well maintained historic building with books and crannies to relax. Lots of sofa areas to sit and relax, drink and eat. Both formal and relaxed eating options. Spacious room, lovely products, comfy bed. Friendly staff.
Location brilliant. Surrounding architecture unrivalled, England at it’s best! Size and comfort of room excellent, breakfast really good, not the usual, but a fusion of English and continental.staff helpful .
Amazing little hotel. Staff very helpful and accommodating, room was quirky and great. Lots of little extras, bathrobes Nespresso coffee machine. Quality throughout. Breakfast was also very good.
This is a proper old hotel. Tudor framed wonky floors and exposed beams add to the charm. Good bar and good food. The staff could not be more welcoming.
