Newton Brewery Inn was just a short walk from the town centre and supermarket as well as being next to the river, so for my trip this was a great location. Middlewich is only a few minutes drive from the M6

Town centre very quiet with not a lot in it but quiet reasonably picturesque. Very nice Indian restaurant at night, excellent cafe for breakfast. Really nice walking along by the canal. OK to use as a base.

Loved the place it was OK for our stay and we could compare both rooms one was bijou and modern for our daughters and ours a large family suite. Middlewich is quite a picturesque town with some pretty buildings and good walking along the canal; it also boasts good supermarkets and other facilities. It's a short drive from tourist attractions such as Chester city centre, Chester zoo, Beeston Castle, Northwich and the Anderton Boat Lift, so a good base from which to explore Cheshire.

The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast (included in the cost) was excellent (veggie option only for me, so I can't comment on the meat-eater variety!). I have needed a fair few places to rest my head while travelling in the past few months, but I can honestly say that I have not been in a hotel/guest house/B&B where I IMMEDIATELY felt at home, welcome and valued.PaulUnited Kingdom

The first night there was a roudy party which went on until 2 am in a nearby room, we had difficulty rousing the proprietor to assist in ending this. In the morning we were told there was no breakfast available due to "the chef being ill". No offer of a refund in this respect was offered although we did ask for one which has never been received. We moved to another hotel for the third night.

Caroline and Clive were incredibly helpful and great hosts. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Would go again if we are in the area, much nicer than sterile hotel chains you find dotted around.
