We took two rooms — a single for our son and a double. Both were attractively decorated and comfortable, with lovely bedding and fantastic bathrooms. A nice welcome in the pub when we arrive in the evening, and a really scrumptious, quality breakfast served in the morning, on handsome ceramics. The three staff members we met were pleasant and professional! 

Located on the outskirts of Shaftesbury, set within picturesque private grounds, this Georgian ex-monastery has been transformed into a hotel.

Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice. We appreciated that staff found I had left my toothbrush and toothpaste in the room and they bothered to tie it to my car while we were exploring Shaftesbury. They did know we were leaving the car in the carpark for a little while.

Easy to get to location, Diane and Ian are lovely and make you feel very welcome. The breakfast are fantastic and set you up for the day. Would definately use again and look forward to our next trip down to Somerset.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would have been happy to extend it given the opportunity. The room was clean spacious and comfortable and given that they are built around the courtyard it felt as if we had our own patio outside. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the food was well presented and delicious. The location in a peaceful country hamlet between Blandford and Wimbourne was perfect for a relaxing break and very dog friendly. An absolute gem.
