Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.
Love love love the night markets. The best food and great value ❤️
Love the beach walk and plenty of beachside restaurants to choose from sink your feet into the sand and ground yourself.
Close to ferry port to get fast ferry to Nusa Lembongan
Locals super friendly

We only stayed for 1 night as a stopover before we sail tı Nusa Penida. The room was extremely clean and beds were very comfortable. The Ac was functioning perfectly and the receptionist was very helpful.
I am pretty sure we could have felt very well if we have even stayed longer.

Best part: private courtyard with pool (surrounding buildings don’t look into courtyard , very quiet, great location, close to lots of other cafes and restaurants, very close to the beach, very clean villa, very comfy bed, good choices for breakfast from restaurant, very well priced.
Negatives: aircon was very noisy, bathroom: shower was in the bathtub and the bath was very deep, two steps to get down and no hand rail. The steps got slipper when wet. So not ideal for early. Bathroom lighting also no good for makeup application.

Sanur was the perfect town, not too chaotic and commercial but with enough vibrancy in the local streets and shops. Turning right from Parigata and walking 180 metres takes you to the boardwalk along the beach, lined with large shady trees, and is the ideal place for a walk. There's many choices for restaurants and cafes, souvenir stands, equipment hire, fishing boats and, of course, the nice sand and calm waters when you want to swim.
Turning left from Parigata you can easily walk 150 metres to the main road, with scooters, cars and taxis. To the left are mini-marts to pick up supplies, lots of eateries, spas and souvenir shops. Once you find a favourite warung for meals, the hardest question is do you keep eating there or try other places. We enjoyed trying different icecream & gelato flavours at Massimos. At $2 for 2 scoops we visited every day!
About a kilometre to the right is Artasedana department store, with a supermarket and two floors crammed full of clothing and souvenirs (set prices, no one hassling you can be a welcome relief).

Sanur is the more civilised part of Bali
Sanur is the more civilised part of Bali
Lots less crowded than the Kuta/Legian
area and not full of yobs, but still with
plenty of shops for those who think
that a holiday should include retail
Plenty of sports bars for those needing
a footy fix
The beach boardwalk that runs for miles
has many cafes all with great mostly
cheap food and drink - you sit there
on the deck under big old shade trees
and gaze out to the surf breaking on
the outer reef
The beaches are great for walking and
swimming if a bit shallow on low tide
You can hire a sun lounge, umbrella
and towel for about $A5 with food
and drink on tap
Just a fantastic spot
Adi the host was excellent. A smooth transition from the airport to hotel and the unit was spacious and clean. Adi also organised our forward trip to an island with no hesitation & was responsive to messages and special requests.
The location was a short walk to the main beach and there were plenty of eateries and shops for general supplies close by.
The private pool was also a welcome relief.
Highly recommended Adi and Villa Ngetis for your next trip to Sanur, Bali.
The Parigata Villa was our tropical oasis in the bustling island. Its an incredibly beautiful resort with top notch dining at Neun cafe. It’s also kid friendly too, with a large pool to relax in. Waking to sanur beach to catch the sunrise will only take three minutes. The staff is friendly and helpful, particularly Tiwi at the front desk. Thank you Parigata for making our visit to Bali so memorable!
Excellent location, walk through to Sanur beach. Restaurants and cafes to left, right and front of hotel. Staff were excellent and very helpful if you need transfers. Pools very clean and gardens beautiful. Wifi great, rooms good size. Free umbrellas and beach out front with a walkway too see many cafes. Air-conditioning very strong! Beds comfortable and villa had nice private area out front to sit.
We stayed in the two bedroom villa which was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The gardens and pool areas were immaculate and we love the old style of this hotel. We stayed as this was part of the transit for us to travel over to Lembongan otherwise it is a bit of a distance from the goings on of Sanur central. We will stay here again. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was good.
The rooms are extremely comfortable (the beds! 😁) and the furniture is tropical elegant. The hotel has a display of stunning old Balinese photos and objets d'art. During our stay they also opened up their courtyard once a week to a night market, giving local vendors an opportunity to sell their products. The staff are friendly and responsive. Definitely my new favourite hotel in Sanur.
Location is fabulous - can't fault it - right on the beach and only a stone's throw away from the main street of Sanur. The rooms were lovely and large, and well maintained. Beds were comfortable! The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. Sunrise from the balcony in the Ocean view rooms is spectacular!
I have stayed at many hotels in Bali over the years. This was my first time at Prama. It was great on so many levels. Breakfast, dining at Bamboo Bar, watching live music with many singers on the beachfront. Friendly staff. I can genuinely say this was my best hotel experience in Bali ever. (Been going there since 1983).
good access a pram, we travelled our daughter (18 month old) and found bali very hard with a pram in different areas of bali. Sanur was pram friendly. very easy access to the beach front with lots of restaurants. Hotel staff very friendly can’t help you enough. hotel very nice and clean. id definitely return to stay here
Lovely location with rooms overlooking very pretty gardens, pool, and bar/restaurant right on the beach. Perfect size hotel where you can enjoy the wonderful Balinese hospitality. Lots happening along the beach. We hired bikes and cycled to the end of the beach and walked the other way to Sanur Harbour.
We stayed there a night to take the ferry from Sanur port. The location is great, walkable to ferry point, breakfast is decent, pool is refreshing. All-in it exceeded our expectations.
Make sure your pop by coffee therapy which is a stone throw walk from the hotel when you are there, it's awesome!
In a quiet Sanur area, the newest hotel by Hyatt is now open to welcome guests in a beautiful wooden concept hotel. There are multiple facilities. Energy saving conscious as your mobility is recognised by a sensor.
And breakfast at wokwok, truly one of the best brekkies in Bali so far.
The room was spacious, the bed comfy, and the bathroom and towel clean. Distance from to lobby was short so it was convenient for me. Location wise was great as the hotel was close to resto's and Sanur beach and it was easy to get to places outside of Sanur. No traffic jam
It was right on the beach, beautiful tropical surroundings, peaceful but near to restaurants, services and shopping. The hotel restaurant had good food, both Indonesian and western. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Loved the pools and their setting.
The old bali feel to the hotel, excellent and attentive staff. Great location, relaxing pool area and right on the beach with great views.
Felt totally relaxed for our whole stay. Will definitely be back.
The Mercure Sanur is right on the beach so the location is great for a chill holiday. There are some nice restaurants near by and a good yoga studio that runs classes daily on site
