Absolutely extraordinary location. The private beach is breathtaking. As is the view. I also truly enjoyed the stunning yoga and meditation room.

Great location just under a km from Skogafoss waterfall.
Very convenient if you like to enjoy the waterfall in the early morning or at night (photography). Private entrance and private bathroom for the single room. Nice shared kitchen with all amenities. Single room is very small, but serves its purpose perfectly. Host even left a small heater in case I needed it for the cold night. Would stay again.

Self contained apartment with large foyer, two large bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. Loved the little boot heater/dryer. View was fantastic. Menus of local restaurants in foyer. Bathroom had heated towel racks.
Overlooking the Eyjafjöll Mountains, these self-catering cottages include a kitchenette and furnished terrace. They are located by Eyjafjallajökull Glacier, 1 minutes’ drive from Iceland’s Ring Road.

The location under the mountain is amazing
But it is really crowded with a lot of cabins and cottages which made the place less appealing

Skogafoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, impressively large, and if there is even a little bit of sunshine, there will be a rain bow in front of the falls. The town of Skogar includes a noteworthy folk history museum.

Great place to stop at while driving to Vik!
Great place to stop at while driving to Vik! There are many things to see and do and endless hiking paths to follow. A few waterfalls around including Kvernufoss, which was amazingly hidden, but very near the Skogar Museum. The museum offers a variety of exhibits on history of the area ( outside part including turf houses), but also technical part - really amazing and great thing to do when the weather is not promising. We stayed at hotel Skogafoss and we had a real blast there! Highly recommended due to facilities and service alike. There is a Eyjafjallajökull visitor centre, right below the volcano- unfortunately closed during winter season. We drove and walked to Seljavallalaug hot spring natural pool, where you can swim, however water is quite cold. The surroundings is beautiful though. Further south you can drive towards Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara/Black beach. We loved Skogar area very much and had amazing time at different spots around.

The waterfall is the highlight, and if you have time, you should walk a bit further on the trail above it. It’s a beautiful hike.
The folk museum is amazing, sounds corny, but it’s really good. It has an excellent cafe too.
Area is close to Vik and the black sand beaches.
The bistro at hotel Skogafoss is consistent and the food is good and reasonably priced for Iceland.
Sadly the ‘secret’ waterfall now has a highway trodden too it and lots of erosion on site as people have climbed all over the grass outposts and killed all the vegetation.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Skogafoss! We loved the scenic location and the chance to do some hiking! The accommodations were excellent. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The morning's breakfast was well laid out and delicious! The restaurant for our evening meal was great! The staff were friendly and eager to help with any questions. And ... there was a coffee machine available 24/7!
We had an amazing time at Hotel Kverna! The location of the hotel is perfect - only 1 km from Skogafoss. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very good and the staff is so friendly - especially the hotel manager. When we couldn‘t start our rental car because of an empty battery, he moved heaven and earth to get everything fixed. Thank you again and we will definitely come back!
Super friendly staff and clean bright accomodations. Loved the jacuzzi and sauna!! Super close to the Skogafoss waterfall. Included breakfast was perfect and coffee strong. We stayed here an extra night because the location was great! Also they have a ping pong table, elliptical machines, spinning bikes and a treadmill.
The staff were so wonderful and accomodating. Very very clean. The room with the mountain view is always worth the upgrade.
Restaurant meals are expensive but we had the lamb and it was huge! Well worth the price and we used it for a light lunch after the museum the next day. Couldn’t recommend enough
The view from the back porch of this guesthouse was amazing! You could see Skogafoss waterfall, which was just a minute drive from this location. The guesthouse was clean and the kitchen came with all the basic amenities one would need. We would 100% stay here again!
Great location, walking distance to a black beach, good restaurant with extensive wine list, nice staff, smiling and efficient everywhere, restaurant, reception, bar. Rooms are comfortable with nice views on the wild land , really in the middle of the nature.
The hotel was as expected and location by Skogafoss was great. The room was clean and functional. The breakfast had good variety and also was good. The night reception person was a pleasure to chat with. Overall would stay there again.
Hotel Drangshlid is conveniently just off route 1 in a very quiet, scenic location. Our room was clean and comfortable and the restaurant was nice. The included breakfast was ok.
Front desk staff was great, friendly helpful. Location is great near waterfall. Near to restaurants. Easy from route 1.
Clean room. Small room, but with faucet. Parking
Convenient location for access to Skogafoss, literally a few minutes walk away. We had a very nice meal at the restaraunt within the main (affiliated?) Hotel Skogafoss.
The staff where really nice and the whole hotel was really nice and clean. Location is awesome if you visit Seljavallalag. Breakfast was really good in the restaurant.
