Hidden gem!!! If you want to experience the real Italy, far from the tourist crowds, this is the real deal! An old family mansion has been lovingly converted to an intimate bed and breakfast in a sleepy hilltop village. Artistic touches throughout, lovely homemade breakfast, and ask to see the family winery next door!

Tortona is sited on the right bank of the Scrivia between the plain of Marengo and the foothills of the Ligurian Apennines. The area is known for the variety and of its products and for the intensive wine production, including Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato and Timorasso, the autochthonous wine of the region which traces its origin back to the 14th century. Truffles are another important fruit of this land and the Colli Tortonesi is the only place in Piedmont to have three varieties of truffle: white truffle, black truffle and scorzone. Main sights: Roman remains, traditionally identified as the Mausoleum of the Roman Emperor Maiorianus; Palazzo Guidobono (15th century); the cathedral (mid-16th century); the Bishops' Palace (1584); abbey of Santa Maria di Rivalta, a Romanesque structure (built around 1150).

We only visited for a concert at the outdoor arena but 5 nights was too long as not much was happening. The cathedral is worth a visit as is Vineria Derthona and San Giacomo restaurants ...and La Columbera wine tasting tour is a must for wine lovers!
Oh my God! I have never been in a such wonderful hotel! I even couldn't compare it with any other one! The feelings was unreal surprising! The whole interior of the hotel is composed of old artifacts, antique furniture. And last but not least - the staff! Thank you Gianni for waiting for us!! Thank you amazing Signora, who were serving breakfast for us! You were so kind and lovely!!!
Despite the museum environment, you will feel love and peace inside, both for the guests and for the house itself. Definitely our best recommendations!!!!!!
Casa Cuniolo is really completely out of the ordinary. It’s beautiful architecture, the exquisite garden, the personable staff, and the truly extraordinary collection of furniture make this is place like no other. The breakfast was lovelingly prepared, with fresh fruit and delicious pastries. Casa Cuniolo is the antidote to soulless chain hotels. In addition, it’s location make it a quiet retreat from the business of downtown. I highly recommend this guest house.
Very correct hotel. Value for money.
The room was spacious, with simple and practical furnishing. The room and the common areas were really clean and well kept. Free well working Wi-fi. Quiet environment.
It is possible to park in the patio, just some steps away from your room.
Conveniently located if you are traveling by car since it is near to the highway. Check-in possible until midnight, which is not so common for lodging in the area.

The building, the room, Gianni was super nice and helpful, the decoration - I loved the bathroom - all classic palace but really tasteful . Very quite and extremely comfy beds. Parking in place, very safe. The location, it is right in the historic center of Tortona, very nice for a short walk.
i shouldn’t recommend this hotel, because I would like to have in future available for me 😀 it’s absolutely amazing place. I have stayed in so many place but this one is extraordinary. Beautiful rooms, amazing hospitality. I will definitely visit it in future
The hotel is well located and breakfast is included (delicious food, juices and coffee). It has a large garden, free parking, an amazing restaurant (delicious food and local wines) and of course, friendly staff.

Owners of the place are wonderful family. Interior of the hotel rooms is very fascinating. We also enjoyed the winery. Wine is uniq and tasty. Retro machines at the yard are also amazing.
Richly ornated villa with old classy Italian designs. Beautiful breakfast served with true style, not to compare with bland hotel fares. All in all, a great unique experience.
The house is a Gem. Room was great, spacious and big terrace. The surrounding wonderful and a quit position in Tortona. Breakfast very Englisch and way to much.
Spacious room with air conditioning, Genoa and Milano can easily be reached by car. Tortona has a variety of supermarkets and gas stations. Very practical.
