I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bourtange. It’s a very beautiful historic village within the walls of a fort. Very peaceful and quiet as my visit was in early spring. I had an excellent meal at ‘s Lands Huys.

Bourtange is a wonderful example of a Seventeenth Century...
Bourtange is a wonderful example of a Seventeenth Century star fort. There are lots of interesting features to explore and discover. The two bar/restaurants in the centre provide excellent meals and drinks.

The lady that was serving us breakfast was kind and advised us some nice places to visit. The beds are very good and the room has its basic needs. For us it was all great especially because we decided to stay 2 nights. Bourtange is something magical and we we're very pleased to hear that the money from the bookings is invested to finance the maintenance of the whole historic site.

Great service, room had a bath tub which was an excellent bonus! Breakfast was perfect. The typical ‘bedstee’ from the north part of the Netherlands was cosy and comfortable. We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer. We regret not ordering the breakfast as there were limited options in the village.
