We stayed in Nunspeet, Elburg, Kampen, Zwolle, and Urk and Elburg was our favorite of the bunch. Nice walking park beside old moat on three sides and lots of nice shops. Elburg has a really cool historic old town. Elburg is also a great launching point for cycle touring the Tulip route in April.

It was off the beaten path and just 50 minutes from Giethoorn. It was idyllic and super romantic. The breakfast was pretty typical European and delicious. The restaurant attached to the B&B was outstanding. The tapas for dinner were fun and probably the best food we had in Holland. The rooms were decorated in a very luxurious style and modern. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend.
