Everything was really tasty, but also local, sustainable and ethically farmed, love it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location had you right by Festningen, so beautiful surroundings, but still easy to get into town.

The view over the city and the Fort, the staff, the room, the food, simply amazing! I never give out a 10/10, but this hotel deserved it. Next time I go Halden, I stay at Fredriksten Hotell again.

The gym is simple but OK, only one treadmill, which could lead to some waiting, I guess. Great to have a sauna available.
