We had a wonderful stay at the Tree Tops. The room was very comfortable and there was plenty of space. Shower was hot and the WiFi always worked!
The balcony was a lovely place to relax at the end of the day. The rear window overlooked the rice fields and the sunrise and sunset views were stunning.
The restaurant provided us with some of the best meals we’ve had on our journey. Tham Magar is a fabulous cook. Eating on the porch was magical and let us watch the world go by.
We were not far from the high street in Sauraha but we spent most of our time exploring the local Tharu community which lies in the opposite direction. (The Tharu cultural museum in that community is well worth a visit.)
Since we were in Chitwan to visit Nepalese friends, we didn’t do any of the jungle treks but there is a wealth to choose from and the owner, Mr. Dilip Poudel, and his son, Sanjay can organize those for you. (Mr. Poudel was always a wonderful source of information!)
As travelers for the last few years, we believe that location and the quality of the accommodations are key. However, the heart and soul of a hotel is the owners and staff. In addition to the Poudels, Diup Chaudhary was constantly a source of kindness and support. His smile is infectious. And Rina And Sabitri made sure that everything and everyone was well cared for at the Tree Tops. Definitely a 10/10!

We stayed in the lodge as a belated birthday present for my boyfriend and the staff went above and beyond. They baked and decorated him a cake and even brought out the elephants so he could feed them fruit and elephant sandwiches. This place will be a special place in my heart because as a double surprise, my boyfriend actually proposed to me on the first night during the elephant sundowners and it was incredible. We had the place to ourselves and Sam our tour guide looked after us so well and helped create magical memories.
The food is amazing and tastes so lovely and all the staff are very friendly and polite. They let us stay late in their main hub to use their Wi-Fi to call back home to tell them our engagement news until the late hours.
My fiancée particularly liked the hammocks and chilling by the pool to top off the stay.

The waiters at their restaurant are the only reason we are not giving this property a bad/zero rating as they were very helpful, attentive and friendly. But the overall service of this resort was poor.

Make sure you visit the animal friendly project Stand Up 4 elephants! It’s free and you meet two rescue elephants ladies :)
We did a full day jeep safari and a half day jungle walk+canoeing. We were lucky and saw a bear, a bison, wild elephants and rhinos. Lots of colourful birds, crocodiles, monkeys etc. but you need luck to see the big animals.
It’s sad that it is allowed to ride elephants in the Nationalpark what is an absolutely animal crime and the idea of a Nationalpark is to protect animals and nature. Also, to make more money, they let start five jeeps with one or two guests in it instead of putting them together. So they need to make more efforts and be more eco friendly. It worth a visit when you are already in the country and have time. But two days are enough.

Chitwan National Park is extremely wonderful with a combination of forest, grassland and marsh with the River Rapti and its tributaries flowing right in between the forest area. Also the wildlife is varied with tigers, spotted deer, rhinos, crocodiles and birds.
Ample number of jeep and walking safaris here with knowledgeable guides and stay in the village with Nepal food

It was my second visit to Chitwan.
It was my second visit to Chitwan. I'll be returning again soon, to see more of what I haven't seen yet. I've, the crocodile breeding centre and the elephants.
Plenty of places to choose from for meals.
Easy to walk around the town, apart from where the streets are being improved.
Plus, even when many tourists there, it doesn't seem crowded.
Pleasant weather during my time there.
Plus, I managed to see several football World Cup games, at different bars/restaurants.

It was a great park for seeing wildlife. The smells and sights of the jungle were revitalizing. People were friendly. A large selection of tasty food
Everything was in walking distance in the town. The horse drawn carriages were fun, but shop around for price.

Chitwan is relatively small and poor town.
Chitwan is relatively small and poor town. It's easy to commute by renting a bike. There's no taxi or just tuk-tuk.
It's better to visit Chitwan in Summer as you will see more animals in the national park and take better pictures. In winter, it's very moist, with a deep fog in the morning until noon. And animals are rare.

Great for a relaxed time after trekking and nice contrast to the dirty and busy cities.
Many wild animals to see and beautiful nature. We were there in october so the grass was very high. Winter and spring are said to be better for Safari since the grass is cut then.
I absolutely hated how some elephants are treated. I don't want to generalise this but on a canoeing tour with jungle walk we visited a national elephant farm. All elephants were chained in a fenced area. Some even on both front feet so that they really couldn't move.
Some seemed to be completely traumatised.
