Ponte de Lima is a perfect place for a pilgrim on the Camino to take a rest day. Perfect place to get your laundry done properly, catch up with your sleep. Lots of nice restaurants to eat in. Many interesting alleys to walk through and enough sights to take in a day.

Ponte de Lima is a remarkably well-preserved, historically important village in Northern Portugal. It has been a crossroads for centuries. Probably for a Druids-like culture, definitely for the Romans, for hundreds of thousands of pilgrims walking the historic Camino (Caminho in Portuguese), as well as for people traveling east-to-west from the mountains to the Atlantic.
Today, Ponte de Lima continues to be an important crossroads as well as gathering space for walking & hiking, cyclists, various forms of boating (with a champion training center along the Rio Lima), horse riding, international gardening and more.
It's hard to fully explain how much cultural importance there is in Ponte de Lima for the Minho (region), Portugal (as a country), and, indeed, all of Europe in such a small village. Well worth visiting.
I spent three weeks there, fell in love with the village, and like it so much that I intend to move there.

The village is beautiful as well as the bridge, which we walked from end to end. There were several good restaurants to choose from. Everything is within walking distance. There are great sculptures spread throughout town. We would come again.

My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years.
My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years. It has changed and become much busier over the years. However, it has managed to retain its friendly low key ambience. It is still possible to recognise the town of years ago despite the changes. A truly lovely place.

Picturesque, regional town, with old architecture and great walks within the town and its hinterland. The town opens onto a broad riverfront with great views including of a historic multi-arched bridge which gives the town its name.

Ponte de Lima is a historic town, with a medieval and a Roman bridge across the Lima. Fascinating. We stayed there overnight as part of a Minho cycling trip (self-arranged).
Had a lovely supper at the Restaurante Encanada.
We really enjoyed our stay at Guest House. Diana was extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and we had a very quiet room (3rd floor, at the back of the hotel). Everything was extremely clean and nice. Rooms and fixtures are modern. Nice common area on each floor. The location was excellent - right in Ponte de Lima and few steps down to the river and Ecovia and many restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here. We would not hesitate to stay here again next time we visit Ponte de Lima.
The location is wonderful - we liked the quiet place surrounded by wineyards - it's on the outskirts of the small town, but as we had our own car, it was easy to drive to the centre of Ponte de Lima for dinner - there is a large parking lot
The breakfast on the terrace next to the pool was exceptional - it's a very welcoming place, the owner is a great host.
Casa de Travessa was better than we expected. Nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Christina went above and beyond in all instances and even showed us places around town that were good food with good value. She spoke English fluently, which was a bonus. We will definitely go back, as Ponte de Lima is a wonderful place.
This flat is in an excellent location. We met the owner for a few minutes who gave us our keys. We had our own bathroom and could have used the kitchen if we had been staying longer but we were only there for a night. Ponte de Lima is lovely and I would certainly recommend this place to stay in.
This hotel was a wonderful surprise. Exceptional value - it is not luxurious but it was great. The room was good and the staff were super accommodating. And the village is also another surprise with good restaurants and great to explore. More people should go to Ponte de Lima.
The location was fabulous, right next to the church in the heart of Ponte de Lima. Nice views from the window. Staff provided helpful information on where to get a great Pilgrim dinner. Breakfast in the morning was great. Lots of delicious options. Good Wifi.
This is a gorgeous historic hotel/family home and grounds. Super clean, elegant, well maintained, spacious hotel and rooms. Beautiful gardens and pool. Interesting history, and attentive staff. Delicious full breakfast served in the dining room.
The location is lovely, a short drive to Ponte de Lima for shopping, meals out etc, the garden is fabulous, lots of space, listening to the river that flows along side the garden is very relaxing, the pool is amazing, a truly stunning location.
I cannot say enough good things about this charming little hotel. Only a one night stay and I wish it had been longer. The staff, the grounds, the rooms, the decorations, the views, and everything else about it far exceeded my expectations.
Right next to the Lima River ecovia, bike touring works very well with this hotel. Lovely views of tree-lined lane and the old bridge, location is pretty hard to top. The breakfast here is top-notch, including scrambled eggs and bacon.
The property, situated within a patch of nature just a few minutes away from Ponte de Lima, was a great place to relax. If you can't decide between the town and trees this place puts you in a good position to easily enjoy both.
a beautiful family run place to stay in the centre of Ponte de Lima. our room was gorgeous - 3 French windows with shutters & a view out to the river. Breakfast was lovely in the old grocery shop.
The distnce to the town centre of Ponte de Lima is not bad. Slightly away but this provided the peace and quiet that I desperately needed. The owners were incredibly kind and won my heart.
Good location, within walking distance of everything in Ponte de Lima, comfortable beds, pillows. Shower pressure good. Breakfast was generous. The hotel was immaculate on the inside
Excellent location, peaceful and attractive
House was spacious and well equipped.
Easy access to Ponte de Lima.
Overall a delightful place to relax.Nothinh
