The staff were friendly and helpful with the check-in process and allowed storing of luggage even after check out. The room was adequately clean. My stay here felt very homely. The best part is that the location is very close to Yilan Railway Station and Dongmen Night Market, which is very convenient for travelling along the TRA line.

The property has one of the best CP value. Cheap cost for living with high performance value. I also enjoyed the location which was next to cafes, convenient stores, and restaurants. Because I have a car, the site was able to reserve a parking spot nearby (1 min. walk away.) There is so much around - parks, lakes, rivers, museums, and culture sites. The butler was also super friendly, and he was able to help me figure out more about Taiwan culture and getting around Yilan.

Yilan city is a suburban area. If you like to experience the countryside but not that far in the city, Yilan is very recommended. There are so much activities to be done and a lot of off the beaten paths are worth the visit.

Yilan City definitely needs improvement in terms of public transport. If you are coming here without your own transport, do not expect to be able to get around like in Taipei, highly recommend renting a bike/car so that you can get to the destinations which are well spread out in this large city! Besides that, the city is well known for its hot springs and cold springs, beautiful beaches and paddy fields which would be perfect for a light cycling trip, and their unique food.

Yilan had numerous waterfalls with hiking, hot springs, beaches, beautiful green rice fields, and lovely stops. I enjoyed driving and seeing the differences of country living to city life. Some of our favorite places were Artemis Garden (soap making and succulent planting for a rainy day), Linmei Shipan Trail, Dongmen Night Market, Luodong Sports Park, and different hot springs around the area.

I have actually just moved to Yilan City to start a new job and stayed at "Jimmy's" while looking for an apartment to rent.
The city itself is without doubt the best place I've lived in/visited during my nearly three years in Taiwan.
Love it!

We loved National Centre for traditional arts, lots of traditional art works, cultural arts that you can see there. Children also enjoyed doing DIY activities there. Yilan riverside park was another place we enjoyed most. We had great time to ride the bikes together around the park.

Checking in was easy and very minimal. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I like that the hotel has a bidet, which is rare in Taiwan. The self-laundry service was also convenient. Location-wise, it's very near to a night market and several convenient store. The main train station was also just a 5 minute walk away!
Breakfast was decent. Toilet in the room has been updated with the Japanese toilet seat. I think the hotel owner is trying to adapt some “Japanese hotel” element to upgrade the old hotel. The body wash and shampoo are Pola brand and they provide a new hairdryer (also Japanese brand which I can’t remember now).
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room is clean and comfortable , hotel is just a few mins walk from the train station and to the night market. Vouchers from breakfast is given which you can use it at the attached cafe . Generally a very pleasant experience !
Super clean and comfortable place with really nice staff! We were riding through Yilan City as part of our Taiwan Route 1 cycle trip and staff provided a safe and private spot for our two bikes! Will definitely return if I’m ever back in Yilan City.
Very clean homestay place. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
If you're looking for a carefree hotel or one with little to no rules. Look elsewhere. If you're a couple, or a group that is respectable to the host then this place is for you

The Taiwanese-style breakfast was good. Room was clean and spacious. It also had a small carpark beside the hotel. It was also located near the train station and Dongmen night market.
Almost a self-service hotel stay. Apart from the check-in day, the reception counter is usually unattended. Very functional. The location is right beside Luna Plaza, a shopping mall.
The hotel is a short walk from Yilan train station. There are also restaurants nearby. Fantastic choice if one is looking for a convenient location. The room is spacious too.
