Plaques telling the history and significance of locations provide information about an interesting and beautiful town. Almost any of the many restaurants on the waterfront provide a seafood feast. Small town but bustling and justly proud of its heritage.

the town is full of historic colourful buildings surrounded by the beautiful harbour. Lots of great restaurants, galleries and museums. Lots to do and many other beautiful communities nearby to explore. Be sure to visit Blue Rocks, Kingsburg, Rissers Beach, Feltzen, Petite Riviere and many more.

I love Lunenburg. It's a beautiful town. It's also home to "The Bluenose". "The Bounty" was also built there

Very nice city to walk but a lot of uphill climbing. Excellent number of nice restaurants and quaint hotels. So much to see.

Nice quiet little harbor town. No chain restaurants here. Spent a couple of nights in November, great nearby places to eat (Grand Banker)

Recommended in Lunenburg

Most of Lunenburg is very touristy now, however on the drive from Lunenburg to Mahone Bay, there is a little restaurant called the Old Black Forest Cafe and Gasthof that is well worth stopping at to savour the taste of Old Lunenburg which was populated by German settlers in the 1700s.

Lunenburg is a UNESCO world heritage site as it still retains the original street layout and many 1700 era buildings - a real gem to walk around.

Booking.com asked travelers...

Why do you recommend Lunenburg for food?

Food was excellent and service was great. Food was a little pricy but one can appreciate this as tourism is their main form of income.

We really enjoyed The Grand Banker - the Acadian Style Cajun Seafood Stew is worth going back for!!

The service industry is well informed of the history of he town.

Visit during the week not weekend.

Haunted tour, horse & buggy tour

Relaxing and inspiring.

Unique shops, local art
