A very pleasant place to visit with a range of impressive buildings from different periods. My visits have been in the autumn and it has been very pleasant being able to wander round the town - plenty to explore, investigate and experience. Need to create more time in Brno w ... Brno city center is pretty small but you can fall in love with it easily. Half a day is enough time to explore everything, from the cathedral, castle, tower with a great view to local cuisine and shopping :)

Great city with a rustic feeling. You can stroll through the center just to admire the architecture and quiet everyday life.

People are friendly but besides that not much happens, not a lot to look at or do. Great cakes and pastry!!

We used public transport to get around in Brno. It was always on time. The Capuchin Church and Labyrinth under the Market were our highlights.

We couldn't stay longer and enjoy the city due to epidemic of hepatitis B and food poisening in Potrefena Husa Restaurant made us leave.

A nice city, with many young adults around the streets. Much cheaper than Prague (also much smaller), yet offers a similar atmosphere..

Recommendations for Brno

Eating out is cheap, accommodation is very reasonable - great for a short city break on a budget. Getting to the city from the airport is very cheap and easy by bus, once you're there it's very compact and you can walk everywhere. It's not very big at all so one or two nights is fine.

Tram, or walk. In all fairness, it's not the busiest city in the world, but it's big enough for some entertainment. Very close to the countryside, then you are alone! Very nice drive to Prague (avoid highway - and you'll see the most amazing scenes and little villages).

Great walking tours suggested in the free Brno map (available from the tour inform and from the accommodation's receptions). asked travellers...

How well restored were the castles in Brno?

The Spilberk castle is great. Make sure that you get there before 5 pm.

Old city squares, castle, cathedral, churches, Villa Tugendhat. asked travellers...

Why would you recommend Brno for food?

All the food is great no matter where you eat, and very cheap

its all good and very cheap average £1.00 per pint
