Sheer cliffs or soft sand? What makes the coast perfect for walks in Eastbourne?

Valerie, United Kingdom

14 days ago Report

The walks along the cliffs around Beachy Head are suitable for people of all ages as the ground is gently sloping with no steep bits. Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is very interesting as you can see how the coastline has evolved over the years. You can walk as far as you can see if you are feeling energetic.

People often recommend Eastbourne for the pebble beaches. What makes them so great?

Jane, United Kingdom

15 days ago Report

The great thing about a pebble beach is that you can find a spot where the shingle is banked up and lean back in comfort - no sand in your sandwiches! Shingle stays cool on the hottest day and kids can skim stones and build cairns. At low tide, Eastbourne has a good stretch of sand as well - best of both worlds.
