Mga dapat gawin sa Valencia

It turns out that you don’t need to anger Don Corleone to sleep with the fishes. This enormous aquarium runs “Sleep with the Sharks” nights, where you can snooze while surrounded by these beasts. If you’re that way inclined, of course. Otherwise, you might want to plump for a wander round the tanks or a meal in the underwater restaurant. Surely that’s an offer you can’t refuse?

Central Market

Shopping area

So fresh and so clean! This market’s jam-packed with the freshest produce around. Vivid red apples and green limes dazzle from the fruit stands, as the cries of a thousand-odd vendors echo around. Even if you’re not in the market for foodstuffs, the building’s a sight to behold. The cavernous space is drenched with sunlight from the fairytale-like domes, encrusted with mosaics.

Barrio del Carmen

Sikat na lugar

Wall-to-wall fun. This Bohemian area is bookended by two mediaeval walls, and its narrow alleyways are peppered with elaborate graffiti and funky boutiques. El Carmen really comes into its own after dark, when the quiet alleys come alive with chatter as Valencians come out to play. Keep it alternative around Plaza Negrito or bop to reggae, flamenco or house in Radio City.

Quart Towers

Sikat na lugar

Quart in the crossfire. This pair of cylindrical towers used to form part of the old city walls back in the 15th century. In 1808, Napoleon’s forces besieged Valencia, strafing the Quart Towers with bullets and cannonballs. Two-hundred years later, the dents from the French cannon remain, now used as nesting holes for resourceful Valencian birdlife.

The beach was a plus for myself and my family. The beach is kept very clean and it is very safe with police present, medical services on the beach and life guards situated along the coastline. The water is shallow which is ideal when you are travelling with a young family.

Facade, inside, inner-side, hidden chapel, Torre del Micalet, the art and soul. Locals joining to the services at all times (early mrng, late evening).

Tinanong ni ang mga biyahero...

Ano'ng nagustuhan mo sa shopping experience mo sa Valencia?

The Spanish are very stylish and there are plenty of good clothing shops, designer shops and everything you could possibly want

Lots of things to see, alone or with family. The parks are interesting, beautiful and have good services all over.

Go on the open top bus trip first to get your bearings as Valencia is a very large town with lots to see.

Buy a transport pass for hopping on and off buses and metro.

Bus service very good and never seemed crowded.
