Very Good
Great historical city. Stacks of places to eat. Good super markets. The airport is very small and about 7 miles from the city centre. Book taxis before you arrive by plane as the shuttle bus does not fit everyone in and you could be stranded there.

Exceptional
Typical french city with classical feel. We walked round the city in a morning, taking in the maison de carre and colosseum ; diving into the market ( highly recommended) for some provisions and finishing with a stroll round the park. The sun shone which always helps!

Great City. Stay close to the train station and was close to all restaurants and bars. visit the old part of the city with small side streets . would loved to have stayed longer. Nimes is a very clean city. no hassle. we traveled from Paris by TGV only 3 hrs. Will go back to explore more.

Nîmes has done a fantastic job with the open spaces in the old town. The promenade leading to the old town from the railway station is surely one of the most pleasant introductions to a town that I have ever had from when arriving by the train. Quite apart from the fabulous Jardins de la Fontaine, there are a number of open spaces that have been extremely sympathetically developed, with sculptures and water features making the most of the natural spring that has its source at the Roman Augusteum next to the Temple of Diana. Everywhere there are nice spots to sit and watch the world go by.

We loved the architecture and layout of the city; it is beautiful and charming. The small squares and quaint shops and restaurants was very appealing.

Stay in the center town near Les Arenes or La maison Carré.Walk through Les Jardins de La Fontaine and wander around Les halles in the old streets.

There are signs everywhere in English and French in the monuments making them very accessible
