Very good
A great base for Ben Nevis and the scenic harry potter train ride. They need to do a lot more with the old fort though and Mallaig is an armpit so if you are taking the train take a book and head straight for the marina bake house grab a coffee and wait for the train back.

Stayed at Glentower Lower Observatory, it was lovely, great location. Ate at the Grog and Gruel, food was delicious. Nevis Range was lots of fun!

There is so much to see. Mountain trips, beaches and forest walks. There are historical sites, monuments and even a little piece of Harry Potter

Excellent base for doing so much, beautiful scenery and fantastic train journey. Walks for all levels. Can be a little quiet out of season but some fantastic restaurants.

Recommendations for Fort William

Ben Nevis; need I say more? Very good tourist path but almost guaranteed to be claggy at the summit so bring waterproofs regardless of the time of year.

Visited loch ness at Fort Augustu and Glefinon viaduct in heavy rain, but missed the cable car ride up Ben Nevis due to bad weather during our stay

The Crannog Restaurant on the pier serves fabulous seafood. We booked the week before - highly recommended to avoid disappointment

The shopping area is not very attractive but you are surrounded by beauty. the town has pretty much all you need.

check out the Glen Nevis information store before hiking

Vege Not catered for very well. More fresh food

Extremely dramatic scenery
