Skirting around the North York Moors National Park, the 109-mile Cleveland Way leads hikers from Helmsley’s heather-covered heathland to the windswept cliffs of Filey Brigg. Scarborough Harbour & Pier

Just the spot for a seaside stroll, Scarborough Harbour is still a working fishing port. In summer, the promenade bustles with wandering locals and visitors who hop between its buzzing restaurants and bars. If the weather’s less than ideal, you can still enjoy an invigorating walk along the pier, followed by a warming drink in a waterfront café.

We come here 3 or 4 times a year, and we love it. There is always plenty to do, and plenty of places to eat and drink. The Lord Roseby which is the Weatherspooons in the town. The Golden Ball pub, and the North Riding Hotel is great for Real Ale enthusiasts.

Far too many people with dogs running around on the beach terrifying my 2 year old grand-daughter. Dogs relieving themselves on sand castles. Dogs everywhere.

Recommended in Scarborough

Lovely beaches, but would be better in summer as many facilities not open in winter. Whitby is a better bet for out of season breaks.

They are fine as they are- wouldn't recommend doing it at high tide of course!!!

Soft sands and harbour walks along with rock pools in the South Bay

Long exspance of of promenade for walking and nice sunsets.

there's so much to see and do I never get tired of it.

I was alone on this holiday.

Long walks on the beach.
