Beautiful historic city with great shopping and other facilities. Recommend Spice Garden (Allan Park) for great Indian food - 5 mins from town centre. Apart from the climb to the castle, the town centre is fairy flat and very accessible.

Booking.com asked travelers...

Why do you recommend Stirling for food?

We have eaten in most establishments and are excellent food and value and again staff so helpful !!! The only thing feel the large weaterspoon will hurt the smaller eating areas which will be a real shame as these we places are what makes stirling unique!!!

The old part of Stirling is just beautiful with the Castle on the hill, the cobbled streets and the old historic buildings. Plus it has all the modern conveniences and is close enough to visit Edinburgh and still escape from the crowds

The Wallace Monument is a must visit, and only 30 minutes away is Castle Doune, where all of the castle scenes in Monty Python and the Holy Grail were filmed. Stirling Castle is also an excellent visit.

Every place we have been u feel u actually no the staff as very friendly hav never known a place like stirlimg

Evoked my imagination and stirred me to investigate the local history
