Things to Do in Kuta Lombok
Tanjung Aan Beach
Facing the Indian Ocean, Tanjung Aan Beach is a two-kilometre stretch of fine white sand. Legend has it that this beach was home to Princess Mandalika, a heroine of Indonesian folklore who turned herself into a worm. Wade into the turquoise pools that lap the shore, or scale the surrounding hills and enjoy a drink overlooking the sun-soaked waves.
Selong Belanak Beach
This cherished piece of the Lombok coastline boasts superior local grub, pristine surroundings and glassy waves – all of which make for both chilled-out sunbathers and happy surfers. For a picturesque send-off before you depart, be sure to stay after sunset, when the bright lights of local fishing boats illuminate the horizon.
Mawun Beach
Not only is this local gem one of the least congested beaches in the region, Mawun's crystal waters tout a signature sapphire colour that is unique to this shoreline. For gentler, more family friendly surf, visit the western end. Public transport in the area is limited, so either rent a vehicle or arrange taxi services prior to your visit.

Very Good
Kuta Lombok is a classic surf village - small and busy but a lot more relaxed compared to surf towns in Bali. And it's small, yet has lots of bars and restaurants. Kuta beach is ok, yet all the other beaches very close to Kuta are so much better.

Very Good
Rapidly losing its appeal but still laid back. 10000rupiah to go to any surf break, surf or no surf. The boom gates often set back from the breaks so you cant tell what the surfs like. Still good luck to them. Pleny of restaurants and fresh fish. Has a fun feel still.

Exceptional
Among the best beaches in the world are within a scooter journey from Villa Bay Nyale. Crystal clear water, white sand and not too much people. The best beaches are Tanjun Aan and Selong Belanak.

Very Good
Small touristy beach town where surfers stay. Lots of market shops and restaurants. Lots of dogs on the beach that howl at 6am some are a bit scary. Good cheap food at a warung close to the hotel.
