It's a gateway to many interesting places in Kyushu. The port city itself is self-contained with multi-faceted culture to entertain different travellers.

Booking.com asked travelers...

Why do you recommend Fukuoka for food?

Hakata's Tonkotsu Ramen is really the best Ramen. Check out Ichiran & Ippudo, and be sure to eat at one of the Yatai, either on Nishidori near Tenjin station, or next to the bridge on the Tenjin side of Nakasu-Kawabata.

Dazaifu Shrine and other temples. Fukuoka, by itself, is good for a hub for travelling to Yufuin, Beppu, Huis Ten Bosch, Nagasaki and elsewhere in North Kyushu.

Go outside city, every where easy to access by train, bus, walk

Feel so safe to walk in the streets during day and night time.

Eat in the street food stalls in the evenung

good value for money and lots of choices

Squid, sea urchin, sasae
